Wladek's "The Mace" game is at Tuddenham. Oh dear. Won't be going to that then.
Luckily, I'm working that weekend.

Oooh, even worse if Dave B's right:
Is there any sort a map out lining the gaming area..Its just a bit hard to picture it at Tuddenham now that the site is a lot smaller than what it was.
With it being held in May all the woods will be out of bounds due to the Pheasant pens...(Females on eggs and pens with young)..unless they are all being removed ???
And all the open and bushy area in front of the woods now has Pigs on it.. So that only leaves the buildings..and the open bit in front of them.
Yes, I'm 100% sure Craig hasn't done a recce.
Who are all these Germans?! viewtopic.php?f=148&t=10295
I wondered that .
BTW on the mahindra Jeep forum Doug was enthusing about gunman being the best games a while ago. No big deal and to be fair he's been ok with me on there knowing who I am .
Anyone else seen the videos for Josh's last game? Doesn't look very much like 60 players to me! Looks like much less, especially on the German side.

That's what I thought. Josh on his chat did seem to be implying that a group hadn't showed up in time for the briefing - he has used that excuse before!
Rubbish videos though - quite why people want to inflict five minute continuous takes of nothing happening on others beats me.
Still, at one point Dog Company were distinctly referred to as 'those knobs'. Which was nice.
Anyone else think it's odd to play an Anzio game in woodland in November? Nevermind.
I like Del's subtle questioning as to the inclusion of the beach and dunes....
I can't be arsed to watch all the vids, when do DC get referred to as knobs?
LOL we've called' em cock company for years ....

Gawd, I dunno and I'm not watching them again to find out for you!
Feck me, I just tried to read that Home Guard thread in the Hess forum and nearly slit my wrists.

Hopefully, they'll get it out of their system before next April!

I asked Steiner what he thought of it all and his reply was nice to us!
Hi, it was okay. Certainly has changed a lot since the first D-Day game (which is the last Gunman one I attended). No incessant whistle-blowing and commentry by Josh, for starters!
We had a couple of field guns, which were functionless airsoft-wise, but great fun to operate - black powder charges put in a metal sleeve, and activated by a circuit. Made a huge bang, but very soon became clear that the charge was too much - the gun barrels were not secured enough, and recoiled backwards, out of their mounts! It was much more fun doing that (or firing a mortar, for example) than witnessing some big bangs done by other people.
Hit-taking-wise, I heard of no complaints at all during the w/e, so that was good. Kit-level - very good overall, on a par with "us". Game play - despite having squads and three or so commanders per side, it was still easy to find yourself not knowing what to do - but I guess you could say that with many games. I think perhaps the playing area was too large, and therefore it was difficult to co-ordinate things closely. Immersion level - not the same as our games, but maybe that's just me.
Overall, I'm glad I went, but I only did so because there were no other events on around that period. I would rather attend CiA and related events - partly because I only knew a couple of people, and partly because I think they're usually better.
Bless Andy
I remember us recruiting him for the first game !
The point about making bangs rather than having them put on for you is well made . Pyro displays are always just that ......Guy Fawkes night . I thought the one at DH was a wet squib and think the players had more fun using the mortars.

Offer withdrawn .

Three events in a four week window....two of them Gunman events...
True, but mutually exclusive clientèle so I can't see a problem - in any case I don't think you could call Craig's training day an event.
Heh, Alex was going to put his event on the week after our Ceri game until I pointed out the clash, now he is thinking of May which clashes with Craig's game. I told him August was free but he said it was too long to wait!
Heh ho, at least the calendar is filling up.

Nice of josh to announce them in the organisers section first - the knobber.

The March one he did announce and filled in an empty February with the other - no one else wanted it!
