I've been trying for weeks!
Is it just me, or are there more SISK's appearing on the calendar these days? People are even stealing our "trademarks", like "filmsim", "don't be a cock", etc. Noone seems to want to be challenged, nor think for themselves anymore - they just want spoonfeeding and everything done for them. A BIG step backwards, if you ask me.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Totally agree.
I'm really fed up with a couple of games that have gone into the game section after being announced at short notice with little or no collaboration with other organisers.
It used to be that organisers worked together to ensure that the player base wasn't split asunder. Now there are events popping up that are only a week or two apart from other events. SISKS that have poached ideas and 'trademarks' from other organisers.
I'm fed up with it. I think the player base has changed. No-one seems to want to challenge themselves and that's not something I want to reduce myself to.
I'm pretty close to calling it a day, cancelling Foxley and leaving it to the day-gamers and Josh's stuff. No need to bust our balls for little or no thanks anymore.
I agree. Seems all people want to do is dress up and twat about these days. The games I have been to recently were indicative of this, players moaning about lack of trigger time, not knowing what's going on and suffering from poor command or direction, whilst comparing guns and insignia. Also, cheating and lonewolfing have been rampant at these other games.
Also, as you say Steve, there is a total lack of organiser cooperation. I noticed that as soon as we opened Foxley booking, oddball starting spamming about his farcical sisk. Porta jumping on with a "Hitler" game, without mentioning it to anyone beforehand, is just downright disrepsectful to all organisers, not just us. The way this forum has gone has not helped either.
We don't seem to have the player base for the type of events we have run and want to run. We've been going for about as long as WW2 ran for, time to end it I say. If we're not appreciated, or are slagged off behind our backs by the very people who are into WW2 airsoft because of CiA, we may as well do other things with our time and money. I'm totally fucked off with some of the people on this forum and none of the games they're putting on are appealing to me in the slightest, either being elitist or open day shit in pretty uniforms.
I will take some happy memories of events that still are, to me, the benchmark for all WW2 airsoft.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Well, fine then.
Sod the site recce this weekend. I'l go to Wladek's game and then if there's no further interest after that I'm happy to bin it and call it a day.
Nice to see them lining up to stick the boot in on the organiser section. Have been looking at the upcoming games this year and, not one of them holds any appeal to me. None are doing anything vaguely new, with the exception on Wladeks' "rifles only" game. As I said, a major step backwards in WW2 airsoft. By appealing to the lowest common denominator just to get bums on seats, they've sold out all that I held dear about WW2 games.

Couldn't agree more Pete.

Nail. Head. Hit.

When I popped into Eversley on the Friday night before Josh’s recent bash (I wanted to catch up with a few people), the atmosphere didn’t seem “right†– can’t put my finger on it exactly, but the player base has certainly changed.

It’s become competitive instead of co-operative. Given how David blanked me when I was at Eversley, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if certain people were sticking knives in our backs.

I say kill it. Go off and do something else – something that is enjoyable. There is absolutely no point in carrying on with a hobby when it’s ceased to be fun.

And exactly as I thought, David has been reading the CiA organisers stuff in here, so I went on a fishing trip, therefore am not surprised that I got the following PM:
That's a nasty lie Jay - the moment I turned up in the car park I wandered over to the end of the car park where you were and said 'hello' I didn't know you were coming this weekend' and you said you were only popping in for a chin wag and that you lived... and I interrupted and said 'Oh yeah, you are just around the corner." In front of witnesses too. After I brief chat with others, Poacher, Rich, Gadge, Evo etc I returned to the car to get ready for the night as it was getting dark. And for the record, I spent some of the Saturday evening with Pete and Stu around the camp fire, just the three of us, chatting as nice as you like. You might like to correct your statement, shit-stirring and looking for scapegoats isn't helping the situation CiA finds itself in.
My response:
David, you said about 10 words to me (if that) then disappeared. However, that post was a fishing trip as I merely wanted confirmation that you were reading information in the CiA Organisers section. As a lie, I apologise. As a means to an end, I do not. Anyways, when my kit is flogged off, i'll be out of here - so you don't have to put up with me for much longer!

Not entirely sure what all that's about Kermit. I'm exacerbated at other organisers generally not being particularly imaginative about their events, scenarios and generally being a bit open-day about them.
I'll drop you a text message in a bit Steve.

I don't want to start josh bashing again but,
we pionered 300rnds
What the hell? He'll be saying "don't be a cock next", oh, hang on, he already did!

I think PBI did that, or Wladek.
It certainly wasn't CiA.
I was the one who pushed for it and, got pbi to adopt it. Something else that gadge, josh's lapdog, has taken credit for.

Make a stand then!
I tell you what mate, I've been biting my tongue quite a lot lately, about gadge in particular. The last thing I want is to cause any more spats if we plan on running future games, so, I'll keep my annoyances to myself for now. I just get irritated when I see outright lies posted on the forum and, people stealing credit for other peoples' work and ideas.

Hehe, Gadge is being furiously 'helpful' elsewhere - I'm quite happy with that!
Yes really! I've said before, Porta really surprised me at Oddball's first tunnels game - not a drunk, reckless, larking-about fool but a really, really good game organiser. Oddball was completely hopeless and Porta and Tiny took over the whole thing really and dealt with all the disasters (and did it all through the night before the game) - frankly I'd have walked out of the site if all that shit had happened to me! They also were the saving grace in the Allo Allo game, Oddball utterly failed in every way possible and Anthony was both furious and embarrassed. I've been encouraging him to start his own airsoft business and chuck in the job he hates and he has made a pretty good start so far.
So, this game will be miles away from previous joint efforts with Nigel and I'm more than happy to lend my support and I commend it to the two of you
By the way, he isn't going to have much time for WW2 next year and doesn't think his site would be suitable for a WW2 scenario - I think it could and has lots of possibilities...

I've been procrastinating about booking and love Drakelow...
Perhaps I could go in the Hess uniform!
