Hey Jay

I see the for sale bit is now getting split into easy sections. You might have one of your own with all that kit you're selling . :good:

44 for Bramley at ~Joshes......can't see him breaking even on that . His comments to me the other week about scaling down WW2 in favour of Cold War seem justified .

Of those 44, I wonder how many paid the £85 green fee? That's the problem with sites like that, the sheer cost of it and the number of players required.

Especially as Josh would have gone through either AMS or Charlie @ Ambush to get the site - so thats another one with their fingers in the pie as well.

Only 1 hour's game play on the sunday at "Minsk"? Holy crap, that was an expensive weekend! Couple that with a late start and a "brew break" on the saturday and, there can't have been more than 7 hours of play! Not very good value for money.

Wladek's nicely pointed out that our October event clashes with one of Gunman's wild west :| Flying Lead events...which we knew already.

You can take the boy out of LARP but you can't.....etc.

I might tan up and go as an Injun on the Sunday.

Thought I'd best mention, I'm going away on holiday on saturday for 10 days, so will be totally off the grid until September 1st, or thereabouts.

Guys... I am normally a proponent of BFGs, but having been up against 12g blanks a few times and having seen what damage they can do (concussion and powder burns, not great through mesh masks!) I'd really prefer to have the limit set at 9mm blanks. There's no need to have 12g blanks in a game, 9mm are quite sufficient. 12g are actually more powerful than a mk9 thunderflash.

Oh, and I can't see this forum... d'oh!

Why does Rich always want to set the rules for our events ..... twice now . :ghey:

Chaps, I may well be getting a nice promotion at work, into the national security framework. As well as a good pay rise, it will mean a lot less free time. I'll be able to commit to our own stuff but, not much of anyone else's. Once I know for sure, I'll let you know straight away.

I've also had a word with the powers that be and, they don't have a problem with my switching back to "being a German". As long as I stay away from the SS (or, at least, their insignia!), I'll be fine. Woohoo! :happydance: They acknowledged it's only a hobby and, my vetting procedures have proved that, apparently, I'm not a closet nazi (always nice to know!).

Mmmmm, potential new job for me in the next few weeks too. I'm not sure yet how much it will affect my free time, but will let you know once I'm properly in post.

If there's ever an opportunity to turn up as Rudolph Hess at an event, there's a uniform in my loft for just that purpose! :slap:

Nice three page article about the WWII airsoft scene by Chomley this month in Airsoft Action.

It's a broad overview that explains what we do to the uninitiated so probably isnt going to tell you anything most you guys on here dont know already but... it's still a bloody good read and hopefully might find us some more new players!

I'd urge everyone to have a look at the new mag, its got a very 'broad church' approach and covers a lot of aspects of the hobby and is really quite interesting. (TBH it's worth it for the cracking shots in the WWII piece!)

I'll state a bit of a vested interest here as I've done a piece for them for next month but I bought this the first issue and liked it enough to buy issue two where I saw Daves piece and decided I'd flex the old fingers on the keys myself!

Hmm, looks like 2 good reasons NOT to buy the magazine! :giggle:

Edit - had a look at the magazine today in JD airsoft. It's nothing special. No better or worse than AI. Just another example of gadge and self promotion.
