LOL. You could borrow my greatcoat, that would be nicely iconic.

The game I'm concerned about is the Bastogne one - there doesn't appear to be any organisation involved other than 'turn up and do what you like'. It might work but...

I'll be giving it a miss. Drakelow has been done to death in the time since we first used it and, I don't share your faith in Porta and Tiny I'm afraid, especially since they've jumped into bed with gunman. Don't get me wrong, I do like the blokes as drinking buddies and company but, that's it.

Heh, Porta is exploiting free site insurance - smart move on his part, especially at the start. Yeah, I've played at Drakelow twice now and could manage a third - just. However, the second doesn't count as it was an Oddball game (hence Porta's game - he was so frustrated at how it had turned out he is doing it himself!).

OK, Porta's confirmed that he'd be happy for me to come as Hess. In fact, he'd like me to do it as one of the roleplaying characters. Your greatcoat would be most useful David!

Anyone have a pair of size 10/11 riding boots I could borrow!?

Just spotted this over on ukaz. I wonder how they managed to get the site? Not that I'm bothered, if they let us use it sometime!

That link's dead.

Pete, you going to come to Porta's game? Dress up as König!

The link was just to point that IED have got Nesscliffe! :happyclap:

Sorry mate, I don't have much faith in the organisation, nor the calibre of player at Porta's game. It's a bit pricey for me too, for a sisk.

I'm not sure if they took the org from the other airsofting group or whether it is in addition to it (like Eversley site where both Gunman and First & Only run games).

We are very pleased to announce that we have secured the use of Nesscliff training area for numerous IED events beginning Sept & continuing into 2013. Both 24hr & single day events will be hosted.

Nesscliff, originally a CAD during WW2, is a large area with multiple sub areas, most of which include the old ammunition bunkers, some of which we will be using as sleeping quarters & also contain toilet facilities.

There is an afghan style FOB inc hesco walls & also several farms & buildings converted to FIBUA standard. This is a fantastic site & perfect for the sort of immersive scenarios we run at IED. It used by ACF & TA units for annual & weekend camps & also by regular forces especially the EOD lads coming up from Kineton for training scenarios. As a result there can be significant heli movements across the area. We saw several while we were on site earlier this summer. All adds to the atmosphere.

Septembers Op Scimitar will be the first event held at Nesscliff

Area details [link]http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/AboutDefence/WhatWeDo/DefenceEstateandEnvironment/AccessRecreation/Midlands/NesscliffTrainingArea.htm[/link].

The location is great for access being just off the A5 & about 9 miles NW of Shrewsbury & therefore easily accessible from the M54 & M6. For those who know our Ceri Forest site really well it is about 25 miles north east of Ceri so easier to get to for those coming from the north west or across the pennines.

Due to increased overheads on this location green fees increase to £40 pp for 24hr & single day to £30 pp.

Well, between us, if you go along as a a 'character' Porta may include you as crew and has offered me a free place.

LOL, I hesitate to point this out but... this will get your blood boiling Pete - ludicrous exaggeration:

I had close to 100 regular attendees at events I ran and the Comrades In Arms forum (one of many WWII airsoft forums) has close to 850 members alone. Those are just the WWII players who bother with the internet and *one* forum. I'd be very surprised if there were less than 1000 people who do WWII airsoft. Most events get between 50 and 150 attendees and its not all the same people each time.

Perhaps he's talking about a Gunman game.

Even worse then, he doesn't organise them!

He is busy trying to get together a new club - reenacting post-war Royal Union Rifles

:slap: The Royal Union Rifles is his cold war waltfest, which I have now washed my hands of, after I was doing all of the work, while that walting bastard went round bragging about his imagined feats of soldiery. Cheeky bastards (him and josh), offered me a discount (not a free place) for the cold war games to be the Brit's platoon sergeant!

That's not the first time, if I recall, that he's exaggerated about his involvement with WW2 games either. It's just pathetic really.

Porta's just asked me to be the CO of the Americans at the Führer game. I hear you're commanding the Germans Dave. Probably worth a chat that one!

He asked me to command part of the German side too, to free you up to command the yanks Steve. I politely declined.

Aww Pete, I was hoping Porta would persuade you!

Have fun with Dog Company Steve! (Heh, to be fair it isn't all of them and those that are coming are OK)

I'm only going to be in charge of the garrison so it shouldn't be too arduous esp. as both Porta and Tiny are on the German side. You will need some help on the US side I think - at least you can rely on Craig to keep his posse together, Doug will keep Dog Co together, so that just leaves a group of miscellaneous to worry about.

He is? HE IS!! By some weird twist of fate he has booked on to someone else's game and has ended up being commanded by his nemesis. This is going to be epic...

So, David, was "gothic" the sisk I thought it was going to be? (Judging by some of the half veiled comments, it was!).
