The start of Guy's blog about radios .
current progress :-
now have 2 GP68s with new batteries on the way , and a test antenna that was recommended as the best for range . It's 40cm long so should look a bit more period than the usual short stubby things as well as work better. I will have a test run local to me on the flat to see what sorta range can be got from them.
Decided to stick with GP68s as they are not a bad radio, 5w and programmable . First 9 channels will be PMR, next 9 CiA only and the last two used to set up the scan function . From a user point of view they will be pre set and just use .
Che's got us a German radio to make a good copy off, I'm picking up from his mate in August ( his mate has a real Enigma apparently so might take ours over for a photoshoot ) US radio he reckons should be easy, I might also see if one of Dougs mates has one to copy , either way lots of them about .
Brit radio I am going ot copy the Wireless Set No 17 which was all wood . not quite infantry use more REMF but is a genuine one from 41-45 . With planning should fix in the back of a large pack .

All sounds good to me. If you need any odds and sods machined up for them, gimme a shout.
