having seen the standard of turnoutr for the last event i think this is larlgey self moderating as platers strive for better kit.....
I'd be inclined to add the following to our no nos..
No modern ergonomic design sniper rifles (l96etc)
No modern webbing (plce/cordura)
No camoflage cream (mud and burnt cork fine but not vietnam era green faces!)
No visible knee pads

Agreed. Both simple and cheap to find alternatives for that, with the exception of gun changes.

I'd go further and say... no flecktarn... its not needed any more as could be seen from the turn out on sunday.
I'd rather scrap strichtarn/ddr raindrop first and leave flectarnand austrian in as they are the most like ss pattern

One person had flecktarn on on sunday... he didn't even bother to remove the modern german flags from it... looked crap and let the side down.

From my point of view:
Flecktarn.co.uk's "tan and water" and "splinter" BDU stuff look ok when modded - but plain flecktarn is a little too modern - especially with the german flag on it!
Bin guns like L96's. M40's, APS2's etc etc are okay in my book, though a k98 or Lee-En would of course be preferable, but if modern kit, scrim it up.

I'm game for banning flecktarn and strichtarn . The "repro" stuff is so cheap from ebay , there are no real excuses for modern . I would like to see feldgrau and smocks as the standard we look to get.
Virtually all you Brits had Denisons, Belgian or otherwise. Thats the standard we should be looking towards. DRWs was a nice way of letting people into the WWII world on the cheap .
Personally not greatly fussed about banning flectarn and the like - it only noticed because of a tip-top turnout this time around. The chap in black stood out more than to me - sorted with a loan of my smock and cap.
Don't lose the inclusively concept please - if this turns out to an anal reenactors thing (ultimate conclusion) I'm off. We need a very large body of players to make this work - we got a good response because it's new and exciting, it doesn't take many to skip a game to make bookings plummet.
As for modern snipers - they really made a difference yesterday, in the few times I was shot snipers were to blame for two. Excellent. Scrimming is the way forward!
Knee pads is a different issue altogether for H&S reasons. Could just ask they is they wear them underneath trousers since they are generally roomy - christ do they chafe though!
And no putting anything to a public vote - bugger all to do with them!
While we are talking about banning, I think lurid dyed hair should be banned - we don't want gays in our armies.....
