Just an idea - and following on from the thread that Pete started, I reckon we should run a competition for the *best* loadout someone can put together for £75 - be it Brit, Yank, German. Even though the ex Team Wannabe member / stitchnazi inside me is screaming at the very thought.
I'll supply some prizes (yes, I still get given BB's and other such crap by retailers that I want to get shot of lol).
I would suggest some ground rules though.
1: Second hand kit is fine. "Finding" a piece of kit at a suspiciously low price will, however, be classed as cheating. You must state where you got the items.
2: Extra points are awarded for ingenuity/creativity.
3: Loadout must cover: trousers, jacket/smock, headwear of some description at the very minimum.
4: The CiA Admin/Mods are judging this.
5: Only entries with pics posted up will be eligible. No "phantom loadouts" please!
Suggest its run for 3 Months.
How does that sound?

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Not a bad idea, making a rod for our own backs though - what does best mean?

Good point there - maybe "best" is not the right word to use on its own. "Best" implies accurate insignia, clothing, webbing etc etc

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King

'Non-geardo' award
'Cheapskate' award
'WW2 for Peanuts' award
'WW2 on a Shoestring' award
'How to look Shyte for £75' award
(two of those were serious suggestions - I'll let you guess which ones
)
