Well, I suppose we need to start thinking about what we want to do and when. The 'Z' game is all set to go (I'll detail plans elsewhere) and Op Foxley would be easy enough to revive so that would be an easy path to take. And how about another of Pete's training/survival days/weekends as a prelude to Foxley?

As far as dates go, "Z" would need natural cover for Pete to have any chance of being unseen which would take us to June. Thinking about cover for Foxley would put up into no later than the first or second week of October (it's October now and the trees are turning, grass has stopped growing but frosts haven't killed anything off). So a Foxley preparation weekend could be July, August or September.

As far as the Dunn's bootcamp goes a noon Saturday to noon Sunday would work - people wouldn't have to travel on Friday but could travel up on Sat morning and leave Sunday afternoon, so that would be quite relaxed. Plus it would give a chance to cover the sleep prep, sleeping (or trying out STAG maybe) and morning prep and a short 'operation'.

If anyone has any holidays already booked, or shifts etc then flag it up

I'm still waiting for my 2013 annual leave confirmations to come through before I can say anything definite re:dates but, I'm free every other weekend for 90% of the time.

May is good for me at the moment.

June 22/23 is out.

August Bank Holiday is out.

There will be other weekends which I'll confirm in a few weeks, just waiting on confirmation from a friend for this.

I've floated the suggestion but Pete hasn't responded directly :P

Could we do another training event? I say 'we' when I mean 'mainly Pete' . I know there is enough interest in this and I thought it might be a good precursor to the great escape game - perhaps with the focus on keeping warm & dry, camouflaging, movement, eating/drinking on the move, making best uses of resources etc.

If it ran noon to noon over a weekend it would allow chaps to travel within the weekend and allow a social element and even put some sleeping arrangements into practice.

We could bob this into early March or even February and not bump into any events in planning (and run Hut 9 in April or June - AGS are planning an event in May)?

I'm happy to run a training bash, sorry if I missed the hints! I have seen some derogatory comments by some players about e&e style stuff but, bollocks to them, they don't have to come! Small and focussed is best anyway.

:happyclap:

Well certainly the phrase "e&e" is tainted and we shouldn't use it publicly - people immediately leap to conclusions or make assumptions or conjure up their own prejudices. Scenario and game plan, that's all they need to know - as long as they get all the game detail in one hit we shouldn't have endless questions or instant animosity. We need 'em to think "Hmmm, that sounds interesting/different". Sure, it won't appeal to many players - that's fine, the game will be all the better without them - but we do need to make players think before acting.

We've said that before. We didn't get any bookings...

Yeah, the reasons were many-fold though - let's keep an optimistic and positive outlook and be sure not to repeat previous mistakes!

So OK, we have a green light on a 'training' event, I'll start a clean thread for that.

FYI the below. Looks like Josh is trying to creep in on 'our' style of play:

I going to run an invite only full larp/live in the field game next year and hope you guys can make it. No social, seeped ate camps, real steel limits and serious medic actions for wounded and Kia. Emphasis on the living in the field and the characters your portraying. When I first saw this event, that's what I thought it was going to be;( :slap:
Hence I got excited.

Was going to comment myself, something along the lines of "so, you're ripping off Jedburgh then?" but, thought better of it. I'm not surprised he's doing it, as he only really pushed his WW2 sisks after CiA were successful to begin with. I wonder how long it will take his walt lap dog to wimp out of it?

I note he says invitation only. I wonder if we'll be invited?

:giggle: I hope so, just so that I can say "no". I can't think of many of the gunman crowd who could endure a full on, tactical game. They'd quickly get bored and start looking for trigger time (like josh and Dai did at Jedburgh).
