I may be able to help, depending on logistics.

I am taking Keith down to Wales. Depending on his shifts it will either be Friday afternoon, Friday night or early Sat morning. He lives up Ollerton way so it is conceivable he could drop down to Nottingham then across to Derby....

Ouch .

I'm down there in the LR on Thursday night , wouldn't advise 250 miles with a shagged back in the LR though , plus it would mean 3 nights out .

Gah, this is getting complicated.

Gadge - do you have a contingency plan if I can't arrange a pick up?

I'm not overly fussed if i cant get there dave.

I'm in a lot of pain and to be brtially honest i think its going to end up being a complete clusterfuck.

If i can get there great if i cant i cant...

Now I feel bad

My car is still with the garage, in bits. They can't get the parts so I've got a smaller loan car with a sewing machine for an engine that I won't enjoy driving to Wales  . I'm worried by space, what with tents and kit for Stubblehopper. But the real killer is that Keith has swapped shifts and will be finishing after lunch on Friday which means we can get there and pitch tents in daylight.

I got a call from the garage this afternoon - 'Can we book your car in sir, there have just been three recal notices'
'Err, you've had my car for the past ten days'
'Oh, I'll have a look - ah yes, Citroen are waiting for parts from France. Still, we can sort the recalls in the meantime - two software upgrades and a replaced torsion bar' (whatever that is)
'Right, when can I have my car back?'
'It's a bit difficult to say sir, Citroen are causing a lot of problems with lack of parts'

Great.

A Torsion Bar is part of the suspension (like a Panther Tank), however I'd tell them to give you the car back and call you when the bits are ready .

Gadge, don't know what ot suggest mate .

I was in a similar situation a while back when my bike was written off. They tried to give me a lawnmower engined thing, but I told them I had to travel big distances and they upgraded it. The garage should do the same if they can't get the parts in or if the recall is keeping it off the road.

Kick up a fuss, threaten Esther Ranzen (or whatever the modern equivalent is) and get a Merc.

;o)

Esther Ransen! Er, Watchdog?

And no point puttting the car back together, it went in 'cos the clutch was bust. I've got used to the smaller Picasso now (pish, I had to re-learn to use a handbrake) but it isn't a patch on my uber-spec C4! They said the parts were due in on the 26th. Even if they do turn up they wouldn't start until the Monday so I'm getting my hopes up for the Wales trip.

But none of this helps Gadge of course. :(

Guys i really dont mind

The only real way of getting me there is if Evo/Dieselmonkey were going or clifton matt.

Evo thinks its to expensive (and im inclined to agree) so unless we can wangle him afreee place to get me up there is a no show for me i think.

We'll struggle ot get another free place with Josh as the bookings are far less than he expected . He reckons if he gets 100 players he is sat in the black, with only 64 paid players yesterday it's not so pretty .

Is it confirmed that Foresters not coming now ?

It did occur to me just that we wouldnt actually be asking for an *extra* place as one was allocated for Rich who isnt going.

Rich was never mentioned in any of the chats as he made it clear he wanted nothing ot do with it .

TBH Josh has noticed you aren't part of CiA either , although I have included you on the list of "organisers" I sent through last week.

What with this and after your contretemps with him over research he was minded to charge you the full price, however I am confident I have dissuaded him from that course of action , I think it was just anger talking at the time .

Well guy its quite clear you dont want me there isnt it Guy.

As for Josh its obvioulsy something he thinks he can milk money out of.

Organising a WWII event with less knowledge of the period than your average 14 year old speaks volumes to me.

I'm just dissapointed you seem to be on the same side of the fence.
