Wonder whether you have seen the beach that this event is taking place on.... it is covered in dunes and its a great distance from the shoreline to the shingle, no BBs would reach all the way from the higher land no matter how powerful they are!
I would imagine the germans will be in bunkers dug into the sand at points up the beach, otherwise the allies are gonna make it 3/4s of the way up the beach until any rounds come close.
And if you're going to be trundling around in your motorcycle, all I can say is good luck with that on the sand, make sure you pack your e-tool to dig it out!
Of course, you're all also assuming that the tide will be out at H-Hour.
The combo is for battle recon and ratting, won't be anywhere near the beach,...... No point, unless it had an 88mm on board !!
It will play it's part, later in the overall battle.......adopting tactics historically proven, that are very effective . 
The beach ?? the lay of the battle field will be considered in our preparation of course,... suitable positioning within the landscape will then be effected to create the best defensive line possible. 
When you attack !! If not as a cohesive pressure , i.e. not well led, and all just running up the beach in bunches, firing away, I might just put me bike on the beach, and casually sit on it, watching you all get shot !!
