PLEASE PLEASE , tell me we have our loyal leader Gareth "15 states in a day " Thomas as the leader of the 4th infantry
Well we obviously wouldn't want to give away any intelligence to the enemy, so all I can say is that we couldn't break up such an effective team...
Can I use my g43?
Regards,
Ralph
They were in service at the time so I don't see why not
Yay!
Also if I were to swap over to the 91st infantry, would I be OK wearing a hbt tunic? I ask as I'm a full on ginger and don't get on well with being hot
Regards,
Ralph
Of course!
Ralph, since you might be looking different then the others in their wool tunics, I might have to give you a special task.

As long as it's not the team bullet magnet...

I notice that you are "encouraging people attending this event to look to carry rifles if they have them", could this be achieved by having a maximum smg/rifle ratio in the squads, this might be practical where the squads are e.g. 34th or Alte Hason based, as this could be agreed within the squads. I'm all for encouraging more rifles and less smgs (and even less hmgs) as it instils a more realistic style of game play. Some recent games have been moving more towards a more open day style of play, with lots of smgs and hmgs, and it would be nice to get back to basics. Some of the best games I've played have been rifle only games

Sounds sensible to me, I know that the 34th have a lot of M1's and a few of the Alte Hasen squad will have K98's so being organised in their sections would be ideal. We're still finalising the ammo limits and game rules, but needless to say we are looking at moving this towards a game where SMG's will not be the 'kings of the battlefield' as they have been before. We will have strict ammo limits and it would be advantageous to players to carry a rifle if they have them.
Additionally, it is worth pointing out that this wont be an event where players will go through 10,000 rounds in a day. There will of course be moments of intense firefights, but equally there will be tasks to complete that may not require a shot to be fired. I hate the term 'milsim' but we are trying to run an event that will be more 'WW2 experience' rather than bearing any resemblance to an open day!
i have 3 garands though selling 1 to a team m8
we tend not to rock any support weapons but if needed we have bars, bazzokas , mgs , 30 cal etc
I was planning on using a rifle for this one.
I have noticed a bit of 'SMG creep' in recent games, but hey ho. Low ammo limits and a long, long walk back to HQ to reload may cure that,
Cheers

Hopefully people don't mind me using a G43. It's an m14 conversion but locked to semi auto. I can see if I can get my hands on a kar98 if people would rather I use a boltie.

Ralph
I'll be using my G43 with the K98 as a backup. I wouldn't worry about it too much, any sort of wood stocked weapon just looks so much better than a sea of MP40s and Thompsons.
Cheers
