I'm coming back from a tour of Egypt a week before then...are suntans acceptable or should I look for some paler skin?

Oct '44 was the tailend of a reasonably warm and dry summer in NW Europe. Add to that the 82nd's work in Italy and North Africa and you could have an authentic skin tone.

:slap:

Now that's dedicated, correct skin tone as well haha...can that be included in the kit guide, 'correct skin tone preferred'...although I suppose you could get accused of something else then! :slap:

Not a shame Webby, a bit of hassle for us but that's all sorted now, site recce done and game plan already formulated.
Its a fantastic location for the scenario and it gave us the opportunity to do much more.

Ah bless! The CiA team are a resourceful lot. Its easy to get knocked back sometimes but by looking at problems and turning them into advantages things can actually get better not worse. * motto of the day *

You will be writing a dreadful self help book next.

Though I am sure this change is better because it is near me isn't it? Well I hear Yorkshire and just assume so. :D

I'm less happy about the move. First local game and it gets moved! :slap: Oh well, the new site looks interesting. Even if it is in Yorkshire.

Particularly affected are those in the south and this is one of the reasons we have made it a weekender - more relaxed travelling there and back and plenty of action in between. In addition, for a change, it makes a CiA game more doable for those beyond the Scottish Borders.

Isn't Yorkshire next to Lincolnshire? It's all up north to me.

Honestly guys, when you see this site and get thrown into the battle we have planned, any travelling will be worth it, trust me. We don't put on these games as an excuse to dress up, nor do we commit hundreds of our own man hours to give you a blat in the woods. CiA put on WW2 EVENTS and, when you step out into the battlefield on both days, you'll see those hours are used well, to immerse, engage and entertain you all. This one is going to be awesome, no matter how far you travel to get to it.

By this stage of the war, FJ kit was extremely varied, with any of the below quite acceptable:

Green, splinter or tan/water smock, or "Luftwaffe FD" splinter jacket.
Gas mask tin or cloth holder
Jump boots, low boots or even jackboots
M38 or M35 helmet (LW blue). LW sidecap or ski cap acceptable (although helmets were much more common in combat)
K98 bandolier or leather K98 pouches, 3 or 6-mag MP40 pouches, G43 pouches (if anybody's got one!)

Therefore, if we put up a "kit available to borrow" thread (nearer the time!), I'm sure we could help a few to join the FJ contingent.

As a newbie if I could get the kit and gun from someone I'll battle for either side! Give me a gun and I'll fight the good fight! Just tip me the nod and I'll look to get involved!

Depending upon your size I could probably outfit you as a late war FJ.
