Who else is up for getting the most out of the weekend by getting down early and going to sabre sales.
and if time permits the excellent D-day museum
It has tanks and guns you can clamber all over so it may be worth ringing them about the possibility of turnign up in kit (for those that want pics of themselves in a real LCT!)
I wouldn't go in kit unannounced though, especially axis kit...
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Me.
Yup, if we set off at stupid o'clock on saturday, we can get there for lunchtime, have a couple of hours in Sabre, then a wander round the museum.
The D-Day museum is pretty good, but there are others as well. Down the end of Southsea beach (same road as the D-Day museum is on) you have the Royal Marines museum, then of course there is the Historic Dockyard (well worth a visit) and then the Royal Armouries artillery museum up at Fort Nelson (next fort along from UCAP on Portsdown Hill)
If that ain't your thing, then go to the pub. The Still & West down on the hard does decent food, and has great views across the harbour
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Yeah i'd forgot about the dock and victory!

I want to go to Sabre Sales - there's a few items I'm after
For the notts midlands contingent why dont we all try and get there for mid morning
Have a few hours in sabre, all meet up in the same pub for lunch then go the museum, then see victory and the docks?
As for the evening social...
Is Steve doing his film thing again and will portas casino be open?
I might bring the game 'zombies' if anyone fancies it....
Or whats the possibity of a CoD5 zombie challenge on a projected game screen?
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yes, we are hoping to bring a projector again - I think the plan was for a scary film but it's whatever you want really!
I just remember it being tricky to hear the film with all the socialising on so thought a 'challenge' of the CoD5 'nazi zombie' game could be a laugh, like who can survive longest?

Id be well up for that, means I wouldnt have to stand around having the conversation fly over my head being the odd one out whilst belgian beers explode in my face like at Husky

Not sure i'd be willing to run my xbox down there in the cold and damp, tbh, they're delicate little flowers at the best of times...
That is a point...

Failing that, i've got an 1977 Atari 2600 cartridge system that could withstand a direct nuclear attack.
In seriousness I have a spare game cube with the original CoD on it thats pretty bombproof too.

I'll bring an X-Box if necessary. Dave, if you could bring your projector that would be excellent.

Awesome, I just think its atmospheric and interactive...

Someone might need to bring the game though. I only have an old X-Box by the way.
That could struggle with CoD5 then!
Plus, you need to complete the game to open up nazi zombies.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
