I'll be in my Heer HBTs, badged up as Pioniere. I'm pretty sure the summer will be over by June anyway - it was last year.

This is a no SS event I'm afraid Porta, so no SS camo please. There were no SS present at Dragoon, they had already been sent to Normandy.

If its hot a period style shirt with non camo trousers will be enough. I'll have a spare pair of tropical trousers if anyone feels they will be too hot in wools but I personally don't find them much cooler! :slap:

I will be wearing an M42 helmet (camo painted), tropical tunic, french shirt and wool trousers. I have some photos but am having trouble uploading them thanks to a broken camera cable.

Tropical people, tropicals! I know I'm being pedantic but the Deutsche Afrika Korp ceased to exist over a year before.

They did, amongst other things. The DAK wore tropicals but those wearing tropicals aren't necessarily DAK.

Just roll your sleeves up so the cuff title is not visible.

Actually, I don't find wools that hot, to be honest. I wore them for Ariel and was reasonably comfortable.

Sorted out my belt order. K98 pouches, breadbag with water bottle clipped on, Feldspaten and bayonet, Zeltbahn attached to the belt. Gasmask cannister with gasplane in rubberised pouch on the front. Tornister containing messtins and food on the day, clipped onto the K98 pouches. Belt hooks, and no Y-straps required. :good:

It's OK, we'll wait until we are almost ready to go in the morning and hide his Tornister.

I noticed at Ariel that whilst the allies rapidly degenerated into slovenly shirt sleeve order and looked like so many tramps, the Germans, without a word having to be said by officers, remained spankingly smart all day in their field gray wool jackets. Well done lads!
I shall be wearing my M36 woolen jacket. :good:
