Guys (Greame & Gordon) , thanks for the game today,
It started horrible for me. Belt buckle broke and webbing fell apart. Then my Y-Straps ripped. On top of things I did not get a shot (with my K98) at the enemy but somehow the well camouflaged Brits always got a shot at me, Then the rain set in. Shortly before lunch break things changed. I took my MG42 out and I was awarded a medal for my MG support action at the mortar pits. At the end of the day I even got a kill with my K98 which made my day (thanks Charlie). Great game play from everyone. Thanks again.
Was great to see everyone after such a long break . Hope to see you again. soon.
Thank you to the organisers (Graeme and Gordon) ,it was nice to get out and about after all this time shame about the rain and bailing out half way through ,other wise I would have drowned in my boots. Hope things for the near future wont be too bad.
Colin
Still drying out, well done Gordon and Graham again for putting the game on for everyone, had a great time, looking forward to the next one, stay safe everyone
Well I thank the Government for holding off I would have been gutted if we would have had to cancel again.
Thanks to all who came and gave support. Everyone was itching to get a game under their belts having been locked down for such a long while. Peoples kit was great yet again and everyone made a real effort. The one thing I would like to have under my control as an organiser would be the weather but I spoke to a lot of you and you just goy on with it as the rain started to come down.
OK the Pathfinders gathered together and then made their way out to Lay Out their large Silk luminous Landing Identification marker in the valley. They then managed to set up the Eureka Beacon and get it going. All seemed to be on track for guiding in the main party. We Germans moved out on patrol after having intel that Brit Paras had landed. A Section was first to engage the Brits and a steady skirmish line was made. My section rushed to join and was gunned down by a plucky Para in the bushes. Whilst my section were screaming for a Sani we were suffering incoming fire from the Brits guarding the Eureka beacon. This intensified until we realised they were now shooting at their own chap in the bushed Eventually we managed to push the Brits away from their objectives and controlled the landing zone. With time running out all I heard was "Come on Chaps get at them" followed by lots of charging. Yes it was Fremsley leading the way and may I say falling gallantly to a hail of German fire.
Next mission to search for a Miss Drop Parachute canister. The Germans managed to find the parachute quite quickly but as we were all told they had to get the White Canister containing the explosives for the resistance. Funnily enough both sides could find the cannister probably because there wasn`t one but now we were all thinking that the other side had it. After searching for opposing team with the cannister the rain started to come down harder and we made out way back to HQ.
As the rain eased the Germans started to gather themselves for an all out attack on the Landing Zone and the Brit HQ. All went well but Germans were falling at every turn but kept pushing forward. We managed to get our Panzerfaust upto the rear of the HQ and Schuster Ed launched 200 bb`s with a whosh causing the Brit commander to spill his tea.
Back for lunch and hang the zelts up. Jack changed into his Gebirgsjager smock to keep the rain off and with that the sun came out Blue sky started and that was the weather front was over. He was under strict instructions not to take it off again to tempt fate. Medal award ceremony Obergrefieter Lutz awarded Iron cross for cutting someone in half with the MG42 and Schuster Ed for Gallentry with the Panzerfaust.
After lunch the sneaky Brits assonated me with Only Rifles. Well done Sven Jarred Martin and Charlie. I was a bit anxious when they managed to shoot me and the 2 sentry's and Charlie charged in with Bayonet attached to Enfield
With the sun now shining and people drying out a Full on Brit attack was launched on the German base. They whittled us down and eventually took the compound.
First into France the Allies took the day. Maybe not the longest day but maybe one of the wettest!
Well done to all.

I really can't thank the organisers enough for all their efforts to put this on. A real tonic in these shitty times.
It was a great day. Lovely to see everyone and there was a good mix of action and sneaky bits. I wish I had taken some photos but have none apart from a couple of bedraggled selfies.
Nothing can be done about the weather and it only adds to the immersion - literally yesterday. I drove home in my kit and was still able to pour water out of my ammo boots when I got home!
I suspect that November's now a write off but I'm crossing my fingers that Josh's Russian game may yet go ahead in December.
Many thanks again. Keep safe and well everyone.
Cheers
Charlie
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Huge thank you to Gordon and Greame for putting on such a great event.
Despite the weather, we were still able to have a cracking game.
Well played everyone!
Sven
Thanks for putting on a great event , my apologies for bailing out at mid day but a tumble and old wounds left me too wounded to continue all to my loss , I'm glad everybody had a good day and hope to see you sooner rather than later .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Loved every minute of it . It might have been slightly damp at times, but what an excellent and fun ww2 game. Great organisation from Gordon and Graham with the usual super props and a top notch turn out from all of the guys with great sporting behaviours all round. Can't wait for the next game.
That was great, even if it was a bit damp It was great to see everyone again, a good game with interesting missions and an excellent effort on the uniforms. I particularly enjoyed the sniper/assassination mission and in the end I managed to shoot Gordon no less than three times in the course of the day with my No. 4.
The oil on my rifle stock has obviously dried up as it absorbed far too much rain, so I've been busily re-oiling it all again.
Many thanks to the organisers for putting it on, and hopefully lockdown 2 wont last too long and we can do it all over again!
A few pictures.
