It wasn't a make or break statement. If you have money to burn, that's your call.

Well it is not anything like a true No.32 scope but since those are extremely rare and expensive I have to settle for less which is why I turned to the knowledgeable people on this site
I think it's being kept secret. I've asked the same question a few times, and got the same answers you did...
It's not really a secret, it's mainly because there isn't really anything much out there that looks the part.
Your best bet, if you really want one that looks vaguely the part, is to trawl ebay for random vintage scopes. I've seen something of a similar shape as a pukka scope come up a few times on US ebay for under £40, but i've tried using scopes at airsoft events and have come to the same conclusions as Del (JD7) and pretty much every other ww2 airsofter, in that it's pretty much unnecessary and overkill.
One thing that does puzzle me is that the No32 looks the "wrong way round". Most scopes I've seen have a larger objective lens than the eyepiece. The No32 is the other way round.

Scopes are overkill for airsoft as said and unless on the battalions snipers pretty rare with brits.
Even some snipers you see without them, there's a very good pic of a commando sniper in Normandy using an iron sights SMLE.
