Just wondering. What extra equipment would an MG team no 2 carry? As I'm the no2 for Battle for TIM I thought I might get a few extra bits to look the part.

Regards,

Ralph

Mattywheels bought the holder for a spare barrel and a ammo belt. I have an ammo boxbut Jack might also have one. Essential as you guys will have to reload ammo every 500 rounds.

Yep, think it is an MG3 barrel case but its essentially the same - happy to lend it; it isn't actually useful anything but makes you look the part :D

The link is bloody heavy (I got the inert rounds), so would recommend trying to find a replica link if you can - maybe someone could knock something similar up from resin?!

I've got a replica 50 round 'necklace' if you'd like to borrow it

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

I've got a 50 odd round belt that I lug about. I'm working on building up the gunners kit too.

I think the assistant basically just held carried and assisted in the loading of the weapon/ barrel change. But don't quote me on that

Thank you I'd definitely take you up on that offer. Anything that helps the look really.

Yes please mate it would certainly look good.

I've seen pictures of soldiers carrying an ammo tin by what looks likes a wooden stick that the tin hangs off of? Or could I use a leather strap? Not too sure. I assume to carry the tins on the back I'd need a special frame (which might be a bit too much but it depends how brave/stupid I'm feeling). Anything that helps the look really.

I'm not sure ho you'd want to do it, Jack. I could carry bags of 500 rounds each in a tin and hand them over when you need to reload?

Regards,

Ralph

I think our heroic HJ machine gunner has literally just picked up a piece of wood so he can sling it over his shoulder.

You can sling two boxes using bread bag strap, but really, for a game I think a spare barrel holder and an ammo box is quite sufficient to lug around.

No problem chap; pretty useless but looks the part!

For reloads, Lutz got perfectly sized cardboard boxes for Vierville- they also fitted perfectly in a Mg42 ammo box. Use them would by my suggestion
