I notice that German NCO chevrons are available either on Feldgrau or dark green background. Does it matter which goes on which uniform type? I bought Feldgrau for my winter uniform and dark green for my summer one - don't know why really - and now I'm wondering if it matters?

Early war ones are backed on dark green.
Matched the '36 collar
Late war are on field grey and i n beleive very late war subdued
