I'm a tad bored at the moment with no work on so to keep myself occupied, at least for a few hours I'm planning to make a few parachute scarves. I've wanted one for a while now and don't really want to use original material to run around in so I thought I might as well paint my own.
I'm going use a piece of silk (not an actual parachute) painted in camouflage colours as per the original pattern and then cut up into suitably sized sections of about 30cm by 100cm. Its just as easy for me to do large amounts as it is small so was wondering if anyone else would like one? I'll probably be looking for about £8-10 each depending upon what silk weight I opt for and how many I make. I won't be asking for any money until I've done them just in case it all goes tits up as I've never done it before.

If you're interested just drop me a PM. :good:

Cheers Nige, I'll see how many takers I get for these first. I'm mainly interested in doing camo ones though and nylon won't take paint/dye easily.

I know, they do look dapper but they also make rather nice targets for you allies! I do intend to keep a white bit for poncing about in though. :D

But poncing in the middle of a firefight earns you double ponce points surely?

It does but sometimes poncing just isn't appropriate old bean. For real poncing points you have to join a firefight without a main weapon as that gets you triple points and carrying a swagger, walking stick, or umbrella instead gets you quadruple.

Well you can't have it. :raspberry: I'm just trying to make sure I have the colour match as close as possible. I'm also trying to find the best way to stop the edges fraying.

Well I've done the painting. It hasn't turned out as well as I hoped- only now do I realised the paints run like buggery and you're meant to use special primers to stop this. :slap: Just waiting for my anti fraying glue to show up so I can cut them up and get them finished.
