hi dave,

i have never seen anything like this before,

im not saying its not what you say it is because i have never seen it before, end of the day, my knowledge is tiny in the collecting world, but this looks extremely weird , nothing like a textbook example of anything german . Are they buttons down the each side ?

There isnt a thing called a fallschirmjager tunic because they followed the same line as any other luftwaffe personal, The first FJ were Heer troops, then the arm came under the Luftwaffe and they used the 4 pocket blue tunic and white drillic tunic. Then they used the fliegerbluse when they came in .

This tunic looks tan to me ? buttons brown ? could i have close ups of the eagle and buttons ? more detail is needed. This tunic is certainly intrigueing (spelt ?) to be used as a Luftwaffe tunic

cheers dave
Tom

Photos of Ramcke in africa 1942 shows them in the standard 4 pocket tunic , i would like to be corrected as its nice to learn something new everyday, but this tunic is to wierd and un orthodox for its purpose and design.

Heh, I couldn't make head nor tail of those rows of poppers - now I see they are pockets to hold 50 round MG belts! Very interesting and a tad bizarre!

Dave maybe since the tunic is no longer for sale, we can move this thread to an area for further discussion?

LOL, it woz me wot moved it!

So, is Dave's jacket original then? Being so unusual (and unfamiliar to most) why would anyone make a repro?

:slap: D'oh! You could have at least let me live in my uber-moderator fantasy land.

Why would anyone make such a repro? To cater for the reenactor who wants everything!
