We have quite a contingent of Waffen SS now, but if there are any of you out there considering portraying a Heer (i.e. army) unit, then come and join the GrossDeutschland! We currently have four regular attenders - Myself, Che, Fandangalos and Helga. I know others on the forum have (or had) the uniform, too. And the nice thing about the GD is that we have a bit of bling - cuff title and shoulderboards, which sets us apart from the riff-raff!

Despite all the various camo garments produced by Spearhead and the like, the photographic evidence is that Heer units did not wear them hardly at all. From looking at the 200-odd pages of my GD pictoral history book, the only camo seen is splinter pattern: one officer with a tunic, a couple of guys with smocks, one wearing his Zeltbahn as a camo smock, and various splinter helmet covers. Everyone else is wearing Feldgrau. The idea of this kit guide is not to exclude people, but to encourage members to build up an authentic loadout. You do not need every piece of kit to join! i'm still in the GD reserves, but i'll be No.2 Commando for Wotan.
i'll probably switch sides again to the Axis for the next game after that, unless it's Axis V Russians.

As with evo i can stick a smock over my m36 and do GD
At somepiont in the future i'll have a gd tunic and my panzer unifomr is GD.
So yeha count me in.

I've been bitten by the German bug now I have my MP40. I'd rather do Heer than SS, so count me in when I can get some kit together!

steiner you may want to change the title so the exclamation mark is further away from drive ... it reads like drivel to the poor eyesighted well it does me when I just looked back with no spex on

Kavster, good to have you on board! I did have a post about kit suggestions, etc but I cannot find it now. 
Feel free to PM with any kit questions - first thing to get would be your Feldgrau tunic and trousers, then build it up bit by bit.

With attached panzermen ect, you had a complete section on the training day, hope you get some more troops, and a full section for the "D" Day event, that ambush photo of you all looks great BTW. Good luck with your drive, you could try and convince Herr Major Keller to dip his hand in his riding breeches pocket and buy a decent cuff title

Theres mostly GD panzer pics inmy osprey books but i cant put them on the main boards because of the copyright stuff but they are normal pictures so later i will scan them and cut the pics out for you.They were very good panzer troops according to the book.

Well i've got a SS buckle now so looks like i'm going the way of the SS however luckily i'm ambitious (if somewhat financially stupid) and will certainly consider the GrossDeutschland at a later date, probably after i've bought my Nikon D80 (education first, ww2/airsoft stuff later!).
No gadge he should just go pink GD tabs easy enough pink highlighter on the vastly available inf tabs, and will go on his jacket he already got
