Recently acquired some jackboots and want to spruce them up with some hobnails but I'm not entirely sure which one's would work or which ones are correct
The two different types I'm considering -
OR
Any thoughts which one's would work better?
Thanks

Go for the second ones. They're exactly the same as I use and as long as they're set right they're really hard-wearing. I've only lost one in two years but that was the leather going and not the nail itself.
A good last with a pilot hole and a blob of gorilla glue and they'll be rock solid.

Cheers perfect I'll go for these ones! How many did you use per boot?

25 or so each side depending on the size of boot, with a heel iron and toe plate. Try and make sure they're curved from back to front. If you line them up straight from heel to toe they'll act like ice skates.
