Heya guys

I've decided to refurb my 1935 helmet for a more normandy look for the d-day game.

Basing it on period pics of 2nd panzer in normandy its dunkelgelb respray over olive drab (basically the colours you got in a panzer spray kit)

For D-day i'll be doing an impression of feldwebel of 2nd panzer divisions panzer grenadiers.

I might put a bit of red brown on it yet but i think its cool as is and looks *exactly* like one in a colour pic i have

Currently after some litzen and an m43 tunic.
feldwebels shoulder straps and collar dogs, eithe in infantry white, recce yellow or pioneer black, havnt decided yet.

Yeah german commando was the brnadenburg one.

Pics are from an old copy of militaria (french mag), forces me to keep being able to read french :)

Tropicla is well cool neil, I'd suggest mediteranian/itlay rather than desert though so you can get some gaming use out of it.

I'd love DAK loadout myself but i cant see us (or anyone else to be honest) ever running a desert game and theres only one 'deserty' site n the uk i know of.

However i'm mad keen for Cia to do an itlay game at some point in the future if the res tof the guys are up for it

Brandenburgers were very active in those areas and the balkans, crete etc.

thats exacly what i had in mind I also like DAK , but i think the green tropical kit loks well cool, and its adaptible as well. I am kind of going fr a bit of a mix nmatch approach with my gear, so i can be ss one day ss gebirgsjager the net with no more than a change of smock/tunic but i think tropical brandenburger is the way forward on this one...

Absolutely champion loadouts there, Gadge.

My friend and I planned to go as 'Bloods' gang members to our next open day, but as I finished my 29th ID impression, I wanted to test drive it (with hilarious 'blue egg' results) and so I went as that. He still did, though - WhosWill? can confirm. I have all the stuff, too, it's finding the time! And I still have to do the GRAW2 loadout that's half finished in my cupboard...

The gang one was for a nexus event, we all got bandannas , cowboy boots, and big shades to stick over safety glasses.

I tend to adapt stuff.

Most outfits are done for themed events as i detest open day type gmaing these days.

I also buy a lot of stuff for Djing in, the russain sailors kit was
bought for a 'high seas' nautical theme night we did at my nightclub.

The bundewehr kit was the old team loadout, the russain stuff was for my last team Red Star Battalion, the modern uk kit was courtesy of her majesty and a short stint working in QM stores while convalesing... :)

But in reality, militaria is my hobby, its what i collect and i spend most my time reading about an researching. The chance to use it at events is a bonus.

if i do open days its UK kit or russian

And lastly i wore my phoenix programme kit to dj a 'combat rocks' theme night at the club... you have no idea how long it takes to get that much cam off and how many funny looks you get walking though town....

wish id got a photo of my ali g loadout :?

black beanie, white shell suit, orange safty specs with black frames drawn on

3 foot motorbike lock chain sprayed gold

and a mac 10

i wore it at LFU at claywheels lane on their First day, when they had John mac (dont know his real name), and the sterling lot doing "lessons" , (you cant play here today without sterling training we were told  )

i turned up in all black, then mid game i changed in to charicter

i changed mid game in a deserted building, and reapplied my coloured tape armbands then went back in to the game via a regen, i just walked into a room full of another team,

"who are you???" said a 203 weilding delta sas geardo  didnt see bright tape, on a white suit

"ali g, who do you think??"i said , then i leveled the mac , and hosed 4 people down

the result, the "GEARDO" leveled his m16 and opened up,(he just couldnt take being hit by such a shit gun and loadout)
not that it hurt , as i still had body armour underneath the shell suit,

then he skulked of to another area and carried on playing, while a certain marshal, (himself a well know SAS wannabe geardo ) said
"dont take the hit, hes not taking it serious in that getup"

the majority of players were amused by the loadout and had a laugh (which is the whole point of doing it), 1 or 2 wanabes were tut tutting, and saying how it wasnt tactical
