I've 3D printed this egg grenade at the height (76mm) I found on Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_39_grenade ) but it seems really small.

The actual body of the grenade of my repro one is about 76mm but the fuse adds on another 20mm or so.

Ralph

Ah I did overall 76mm, so it should be about 20mm bigger, but still quite small, close enough though :good:

Here's mine next to a tape measure. I'm sure your one will still look good hanging off your belt.

if nothing else it would probably be a good buoyancy aid for your keyring :)

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Okay, now re-sized and re-printed, just needs painting, I also took the opportunity to re-engineer and make the cap removable :D

If anyone is interested I could print these out for you at cost - £2 each raw unpainted, just don't ask for 50 cause they take 4 hours each to print

Cheers

Would you be open to doing other designs?

There's a Spanish model of stick grenade I'd be interested in having a model of for my Spanish civil war impressions.

It's the one at the top of the photo, the German m24 could give an idea for scale. I'd only be after the head of it btw.

Thank you,
Moss.-- attachment is not available --

That looks great! How many "sides" have you modelled it with? I think the original has 8 vertical rows and I can't really tell with your model because of the different angle?

Thank you very much for taking the time,
Moss.

I think it's 10, I've cheated a bit by chopping up an existing grenade design, as my CAD package is a bit basic. If you want one printed let me know what diameter you want the handle hole.

There was quite a few variants of grenades being used in Spain and there was a few ten sided designs I can think of.

I'll have a look at what size wooden dowels and such I can get and let you know what size the hole needs to be.

Thanks again,
Moss.
