I've only got about three bits of original kit and this splinter zelt is one of them. It's very battered, full of pinholes and little tears and it stinks of diesel.
It also doesn't have any maker marks on it, which was a huge disappointment to me when it arrived. Anyway, I thought I'd post a couple of pics in case there were any Zeltsperts out there.
Pic 1: It has at least three different types of button on it and the hem on one side is a lot more faded than the rest of the Zelt.
Pic 2: It has two machine-sewn patches which are more faded than the rest of the material. This is the larger and clearer of the two. I have no idea what camo pattern this is.
Any additional info appreciated

kamouflage.net shows a "3rd Pattern" Eyetye camo scheme that looks similar:

Did Italian camo really fade out so fast? I suppose it may have been already faded when it was sewn on...
the Sun, dye finishing techniques and manufacturing processes 'could' have an influence on fade.
I'm no fabric guru - I'm sure someone else with 'mastery' could give you a wider diagnosis.
maybe I shouldn't have put it on the 2hr boil wash after all....
Or..they mistakenly sewn the reverse side of the camo.??
