Just had a look at the site. These must be the boots they've been promising for quite a long time now, finally arrived - or, according to the site, are due to be arriving for July - Do you know if they've actually got them or not?

I was holding out for a pair of the ankles but finally decided I didn't want to wait any longer and succumbed to the lure of RU's version - very nice boots but pricey. The SOF ones don't look too bad judging from the photo. They're made with eyelets all the way up, whereas the RU ones have a mix of eyelets and hooks which I personally prefer - the metal work on the soles seems pretty good, too. I reckon for the money you can't go far wrong there - look like quite a nice boot - same for the jacks - although you'd want to black the stitching up -

Good eye for detail, Richard. I must admit that Underpants' boots look extremely nice, but then again, SoF's photos are rubbish quality! Also, RU don't stock them in my size - they have to be made specially. For goodness' sake, what am I, a freak or summat??! [Helga, don't even think about making a comment!]

Yay! Feet Freaks unite! Well, because it's concrete underfoot at UCAP, it would be suicide to wear hobnails, so I'll be using my east German jackboots. The only other boots I've got are my British army boots, which look fine with gaiters. Let me know if you want to borrow them.

pmsl I'd expect a discount cos it wouldn't need the full hide yours would require infact mine could be made of offcuts from your "special" boots at minimal cost

Probably a very good thing in some respects, cos thanks to this conversation I've realised I need some more boots - both my ankles AND my jacks are studded - so I'm going to have to splash out on something more appropriate for Wotan - bit more shopping to do then....

But to be honest, if it is a Urban day, you will need. If you are on a woodland site with a mettaled road though, Real studded Jack boots sound great as You run across it.
