Hi guys,

Thought I would let you guys know that my mate works in a leather goods shop, and on commission, can make new leather liners for M35 helmets, using a supple leather, and have it fitted back in the helmet for you. He has a pre made pattern, so they can be made with relative ease.
The company is called 'Clever with Leather', and is located in Brighton, worth a look guys. I have seen one of the finished products, and I must say it was very very impressive, and if you are going to Operation Haggard you will more than likely see it.

Tel: 01273 462460 and ask for Corvin, he will be back in the workshop in about a weeks time :)

In reply to that, I'm the owner of the said helmet, and the replacement is Identical to the original. If not better. This guy Corvin is a genius when it comes to making anything. I've brought a lot of repro kit since my new found interest of WW2 airsoft where leather and canvas are the rule, and TBH was disappointed with the quality of the leatherwork.
If there are any parts, belts, holsters or anything that you just cant find, this guy can make it for you.
Although not WW2, I have a Tanaka M700p in a Remington stock and this guy made a dpm gunsock for me that fits like a glove, even matched the pattern of the cheekpiece where it flares out on the stock.
And yes, working for a company called "clever with leather" in Brighton, they get asked to make Everything!
We'll be at Haggard and happy to chat over a beer :)

wouldn't mind a couple of German triple pouches - oversized to fit the Tanaka K98 Magazine.

EDIT: - I have original sized pouches and Tanaka mag's for measurements

Moulding can be done too. but it is a longer process (but worth it).

He is making me a leather map pocket (Black), and has the correct white stiching for it aswell.

I highly recomend him :)

Thanks for the info Pimms - I guess a phone call to Corvin and discussion about my wants is the way to progress.

Might be worthwhile after the phone call and possible 'green light' to get a list of others that want their own copies of the pouch project- so Corvin can workout prices etc

Yep, K98 pouches made oversize for Tanaka magazines would be great.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I'd be up for a set of 'special' K98 pouches - chap at SoF was interested in looking at the problem last November but AFAIK nothing has happened...

Sounds good. Corvin will back from Holiday next week, so you can try then.

But like I said, he's really good at this kind of stuff, I've made a few things myself in the past, but they have always been hand stitched. But corvin uses proper machines and gets really good results, as you can imagine.

I get the feeling there could be a lot of takers for those. :)

Once Corvin is back, I'll call and supply the details(pics and measurements etc) and get a cost - if he's willing to manufacture.

Once these details are known, i'll post a thread - get folks 'wants' total and feedback to Corvin.

Kl.

basically, the more info you provide, the better the result.

I would recomend talking to corvin first, as he knows the ins and outs of militaria, and if he has a problem or dout, he can come and ask me. It's just his collegue is not 100% savy with WW2 uniforms and accesories, so corvin can put him straight, and then they can make the most acurate product they can with the info you supply.

If I can, I will try and post some pics on here, of the stuff he has done :)
And I will get Jimbo to try and post one of the helmet :)

I'd also be interested in some usable K98 pouches, and maybe some Mosin Nagant ones too.

I got distracted by the credit crunch, reallife and paying bills.

Hopeless - shit happens, it's not forgotten about, trust me - I have a few KG-SS wanting the oversized pouches also, including me.

Wait one, I'll contact supplier on Monday and update, asap
