Hi guys, am currectly putting a couple of German uniforms together.

One of them is an SS officers uni, what i want to know is what would an officer have normally had on his belt, would they have still used y straps? Or as i suspect did it vary from person to person, any pictoral references would be great.

Thanks in advance DW :good:

I have a pair of stone-grey officer's breeches in a 34" waist if you want them.-- attachment is not available --

Why would he want them attached to his belt?

Belt order would be down to personal preference and the overall situation. Probably best to keep it light with only the bare essentials. Y-straps may or may not have been worn, again due to personal preference.

hehe, ok so its as i suspected personal preference, this is for an in combat look just to be clear.

While i'm asking what is the correct way round for the buckles on the gaiters, and should the straps be on the inside or the outside, as my search results have should the showing different ways.

Could be interested in the breeches, drop me a pm.

Cheers DW

I think I'd be correct in saying that anything above (the silly-named SS equivalents of) Leutnant, Oberleutnant and Hauptmann would not be in the field of battle. I would say what kit one of those officers would wear is up to you, but probably by that stage many would be just shouting and pointing, and not carrying a helluva load of kit when their subordinates could do it for them.

Buckles on gaiters are on the outside of the leg, straps pointing backwards.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
