Soo I've always wanted to do a panzer commander uniform, you know for a drinking uniform ect

Well I've now thought of getting a leather jacket for everyday use and I've noticed the Leather panzer wrap that's on Epic

Now I'm wondering if they actually did wear a Leather wrap or not? Have seen a few bit on the net that suggest they did

Thanks
James

Could be a private purchase item.

I have never seen any Panzer commander wearing one - it's just another Epic fantasy piece.

I believe they did exist and were sometimes worn by SS panzer crews as well as u-boot leather jackets, and trousers. 1st and 12th SS were issued the u-boot leathers. Rare but as Gordon says if you want it for a drink und bling uniform then why not!

An example shown here:

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

Actual panzerwrappers in these photo's, not U-boatjackets. Private purchases without doubt, some of these survived the war, I believe someone on 'Wehrmacht Awards' owned an original. I bought one from Epic some time ago and I quite like it. Definitly works well if you are trying to do a Panzerofficer outfit. Although putting insignia on it wont easy.

Well I've had the leather Panzer wrap for awhile now and am planning to get the rest of the bits to make it look more like a event worthy uniform

I was wondering if the SS used the pink shoulder boards or the white ones for Panzer crews

Thanks
James
