What do you mean by the 'tabs'

epaulettes or collar dogs?

epaulettes slip on through the loop on th shoulder.

collar dogs like all cloth insignia are sewn on.

No thats an enlisted mans tunic.

NCOs have 'litzen' (silver lace) around the epaulettes

Officers have silver thread shoulder straps.

again that website i pointed you towards yesterday will answer all this.

I've not seen Anthony's

my bet is a different manufacturer

tell me what differences have you seen.

No stay as an enlisted man, saves you cash and far more appropriate for your age.

My heer outfits an enlisted mans.

badging yourself up as an nco or officer for our events is a pain in the arse for us orgnaisers TBH as we hand out rank on the day via pin on rank bands.

Do an impression of what looks *right* for young panzer recruit IMO.

EMs shouilder boards and collar dogs, national insignia should do for now.

Get the basics first, a good pair of jackboots or ankle boots and gaiters or some spre mags is far more important than

I know next to nothing about German kit, i do however research anything i want to do myself thouraghlly before asking questions.

All the stuff i've told you about panzertruppen i found out by googling and a little bit of prior knowledge.

The info i have about German kit is form building up a heer commando impression over the last three months.

LOTS of reading before buying anything.

I'd seriously recommend:

doing as much google research as you can, then going to wwiireenacting.co.uk and trawling the panzer board there, read everything you can.

Try and get stuff from a few sources that confirm whats right or wrong, one source may be wrong.

Hi Lewis, most likely reason(s) are different manufacturers and also that there are a few different versions of the Black Tanker kit.

Nothing to worry about and perfectly 'realistic'

Yep, i was going to say lots of different facotries will have made them during the war

Some factories might bnot have had enough pink piping so left it off.

You get a lot of variantions of the same 'pattern' of equipment for all armies.

And sorry if i sound offish Lewis, im always happy to hlep but its alwsya good idea to do some background reading on an impression first and findout exaclty what you want before buying, other wise you can end up buying stuff that you just dont need.

A good starter is always the osprey books, you dont even have to buy one, go to waterstones, browse though it, have a sti down, read a section, put it back, come back the next day read the next... they have sofas there so you can check out books!

I have a reference book - ISBN 1 86126 268 X and it shows an EM wearing the Sonderbekleidung(Black 'special' panzer uniform) and the jacket is exactly the same as the one you own.

It is known that officers did wear EM's tunics as well on occasion, especially if they received a field commision.

http://www.atthefront.com/

Have a read of this commercial site.

I war you he's quite abrupt but it should tell you *everything* you need to know about German uniform and how to look after it etc.

Obviously he's going to big up his own products but a lot of th advice is sound.
