Hey,
I thought I'd put together a pioneer webbing set as I already had some DAK pioneer pouches and the Luga River Line event. So I've thrown some bits on the belt and this is what I've put together.
I haven't put the Pioneer pouches on as when I did try em out the just didn't sit right(prob just me). The D ring doesn't look like its in the right place.
any input would be appreciated
Thanks
JD
The D rings don't connect to the Y straps (that's why they aren't at the top) but can be secured to each other with the loose strap or to the pioneer back pack that goes in the middle.
I don't think you can get the ensemble to work with MP40 pouches though and your K98 clips go in the side pockets anyway.
I must have sold my pioneer pouches but I do remember that when just belt mounted and full of stuff they hung very awkwardly - a pair of top mounted D rings would have been very useful!

Thanks for the info
As I've only got an MP40 and a STG44 I'd be a bit sort on ammo without the MP40 pouches (Well not so much the STG44). To begin with I did try putting the two pioneer pouches at the front and a MP40 pouch on my left as well as the other way round with the MP40 pouches at the front but since I've got the shovel on I can't do that. The shovel carrier is East German, or so SoF say.
I originally brought the pioneer pouches to use so I can carry bbs, food ect. Didn't think it looked so out of place
As I've go a very slender build, I can't fit much on the belt. As the webbing stands now would it be correct?

From just a practical POV, if BB's and stuff are in the backpack then you would have to undo the belt and take the lot off to access it (or keep asking a mate!). Can't you just use the three pioneer bags and put the MP40 magsand ammo in one of the side pouches? Choc bars and water bottle in the other, cooking kit and extra water in the back pack. Sorted for a complete day's skirmishing! Room for the shovel on the belt too!
Wasn't planning on using the backpack for much, storing kit and bubble wrap. Suprisely I can access one of the pockets on the backpack while wearing it
I didn't think the MP40 mags would fit but having just tryed it. I'll have a play about, about now methinks
Thanks for the help, shall upload some photos soon on the improvements

As far as I know - and correct me if I am wrong - the green assault set (backpack and bags) are post-war BW issue, not war-time design?
*Stitch-Nazi comment for the day, will behave from now on *
I play pionier during our airsoft games, and I normally stick to the A-frame instead of the assault (back)pack. The assault pouches work best with D-rings: if you put the D-rings on the front of the belt, at 1- and 11 o'clock positions (or 01:30 and 10:30, depending on your size), then the assault pouches go on 3- and 9 o'clock.
Why not more forward, you may ask? Why not on the 2- and 10 o'clock positions? Very simple: because the pouches are so deep (long in downwards direction, if that makes sense), they get in the way of your thighs the moment you go down on one knee. Go down on your right knee (as most right-handed shooters do), and left pouch immediately gets pressed up by your left thigh. If they hang at 3-9, then they do not interfere with the legs at all.
Also, to get a proper idea of how they should hang, get some weights and put about 3kg in each pouch. The German 1kg demo charges measure 75mm x 50mm x 150mm (3" x 2" x 6") - and you get metal square tubing that is exactly 3" x 2", which you can then simply cut to 6" length. Cap the ends with something solid, and make sure each section weighs 1kg (we put smoke charges in ours).
Then load up with 4-6 of them, and play assault all day
What you think? Do the DAK pouch look out of place?
Use it and make it dirty. After a few times usage it looks already much better.
Or you can help it a bit and throw in some mud and dirty it yourself.
Put your MP40/STG44 mags in the pioneer bags so you don't need the mp40 pouches.
