Good thread though , I was wearing my M35 last night thinking that it was probably lighter than a real one , but perhaps not .

On a Wednesday night...?? Was it for some sort of role play...?

No , sorting out the kit day ....14 yr old daughter was trying it on but preferred Panzer M43 cap .....son ran off with boris's Ushanka so won't seethat again .

I believe my 42 helmet to be original, it came via a Lithuanian friend, certainly looks old enough and has a metal fatigue split in the top of it that could only come with age. I replaced the wafer thin and split liner, by getting a friend who works with leather to copy the original. Just weighed it at exactly 1.4 kg
