Ok guys, best place from experience to by a set of M43's, mid-late war Airborne uniform.
SOF is still coming up trumps because its in Britain and although the others are cheaper...once you add the international shipping rates on it's actually a little more expensive.
If anyone has other suggestions then let me know...

Platoon in Bury, cheaper than SOF and local, people know what theyre talking about and sell you good looking stuff, not nasty orange shite. plus you can go try it on if you live local, SOF dont have a retail section at their place other than in Chester which has little WW2 stuff in it!

Well yeah, get the basis, and then improve on it.... a basis of British kit would come before a more expensive US loadout :)

Basicaly what i did was grab the cheapest US kit i could for D-Day now i have the time im doing a FULL British kit for Huskey, then after that either British Infantry or replacing my US kit with more realistic counterparts, i tried washing them on a high heat to fade the colours like SOF said didnt work very well though.

i got a U.S. ammo bag of evilbay, it had 2 big nasty blue ink stains on it, i bleached it then dyed it olive green, its very dark olive green, almost black, but the more i wash it the slightly lighter it gets. in a hundred washes it might be ok lol,,,,,,, oh well it was only 6 quid plus 2 quid postage, you take a gamble at that price.

Finally got my Thompson finished - here's a few pics. Now I can concentrate on my boots, jacket and helmet and hopefully get some pics up of the full kit.

Jon,nice looking Thompson there.

Do you find like i do that with the sling correctly fitted as yours is that they are crap-too short with no adjustment available?
Thought it was just the repros that were too short but i had an original one and that was the same

Yep, gets in the way of the mag like that and is too long if you use the strap at its longest.

Converted from a VSR MP001, with a lot of patience, its a Springfield 1903...ish. Had to change the shape of the end slightly so that it fitted in with the MP001 stock and it needs painting but it looks great up close and feels great too!

Ready to shoot some Krauts at Op: Husky.

What do y'all think?

Looks better now it's painted, I'll get another pic up soon. It needs a bit of sanding and restaining I was a bit impatient with the painting process and part looks a bit crap. But I'm very happy with it, it looks great.

Do you mean to reshape the front end of the MP001? - A very sharp chop saw.

The end of the rifle which I made, is made out of a piece of pine, shaped and then chiseled out to fit the new outer barrel and the hop up in.
The top piece was just a length of circular wood with the centre chiseled out to fit the back of the barrel which is wider. Then the whole lot was brought together with pva and wood filler.
