I had a blast when I've been to CA,TX, NY and MA - not WW2 Airsofting, visiting friends.

Only bad time was trying to get out of CA after 9/11 from 'frisco' to TX. And also from JFK to London once my month was up, first time in USA.

I've been back since - hell I flew to LA for a 'long Weekend' em 4 days lol, for a friends party

You ain't wrong there. A (US) gallon of gas here is $9!! When I was over in LA last month people were complaining that it was $4!! (That's 50p a litre!) Stick that in your exchange rate pipe and smoke it!

Anyone know what loadout biguk has. From his avatar I'd say it was going to be Airborne but wasn't sure. Either way he should post up some pics...

I've been chatting to him on a thread on Arnie's as well as here and he's putting together a 101st uniform, I seem to recall him saying the helmet he's bought is already marked up for the 2/506th.

Lol Yeah mine is 101st. The helmet i bought was already painted up at 2/506th. The loadout is coming along...just gotta buy the webbing really now..

I will take some pictures...when ive finished sewing on the various patches. My loadout is based on a platoon leader from the 2 Bat 506th PIR (sgt). Now i know rank is not used in CiA games and im not looking to order people around. Its purely because thats the loadout i wanted to portray. People have said "why 506th ?" "everyone does 506th". But its my personal tribute to what those guys did. Feel like i know them alot better than other divisions of the US Army. I read the book 'band of brothers' way before it was made into a mini series. and have since read the personal accounts of many of Easy's men.

Here's a list of the kit i have so far:

1942 Jumpsuit (including 101st and Sgt Stripes)
Braces and belt
M1C helmet (including scrim and netting)
Corcoran brand Paratrooper Boots
Parachute canopy Scarf
An original M3 Knife and scabbard (with leg strap)
Original E-Tool and Cover (dated 1942)
First Aid pouch
Thompson Mag Bag
TM Thompson and low caps
Mk2 Repro Frags

What i still need:

1936 Pistol Belt
1936 Musette Bag
1911 Pistol
1911 Holster
Various riggers pouches

Think thats about it so far.lol

Any suggestions would be cool

Carlisle Pouch? Pistol mag pouch? Cricket? Bayonet?
Mock TNT Blocks from SOF?

Have you read the memoirs of David Webb? Very good book, looks at the war through the perspective of a bloke who didn't volunteer for ANYTHING haha Although ironically volunteered to jump out of an aircraft.

Good point...maybe...ask Webb he'll know lol Or get yourself a Garand! Then you can get the ammo belt, bandolier, bayonet...I've got two separate loadouts now. A basic one for the Garand or Springfield Sniper and my Heavy Rig for my Airborne loadout with a Thompson.

Dont think they would have put a bayonet on a Thompson, the gun aint really long enough to warrant having 1 on it! hehe

Cheapest skirmishable M1 Garand you can get would be either 1 of Warren's, or get a cheapsoft M14 with the AZR wood and metal kit.

Bayonets are cool, however not good for airsoft, im thinking about making some soft rubber casts of my real 1, just never got around to it.

Don't you have yours tie wrapped in to the scabbard?
It makes me laugh when people mention knife kills...as if you're going to get close enough to simulate stabbing someone...what's the rules on throwing them haha

I managed one at Churchill's Revenge. Witnessed by Yith too!!

I also went to knife kill Barrie at Wotan but the bugger turned around just as I was about to have him! ;)

I managed to get someone else in the dark down there though. Not sure who it was...

It's a good tactic to use on snipers, although a little naughty as you're using the rules to mis-play the game really.

Run as hard as you can to get inside their minimum engagement distance then, as they're scrabbling for their sidearm, bayonet them!
