The same link as posted previously. The point that people have tried to make is that the 82nd Airborne did not exist, the 82nd infantry did, In your link it states -

'the 82nd was reorganized and redesignated the 82nd Airborne Division on 15 August 1942'

However there is no more reason to clutter up the Sealion thread with this as it has been very clearly stated that US Airborne forces are welcome, so the debate this is an abstract point. If you want to continue it I suggest moving to the US forces section and discussing it there.

Edit: In fact I have moved it

I think this is the relevant part?
'Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 brought the United States to war again. The 82nd Infantry Division was called to active duty on 25 March 1942 with Major General Omar Bradley as commander and Brigadier General Matthew Ridgway as assistant commander.'
The 82nd were not active before this time being on the reserve list.

aye, but being on the reserve list would have given them a nucleus of enough chaps to fill an airsoft side if push came to shove.

But they would a] not have been in the UK b] not have been at war with Germany c] would have breached American neutrality if they had engaged the Axis powers.
Not giving up on being inclusive, just trying to get the history right.
It is important to know the facts irrespective of how the games are run.

nope. I have tried to find a jocular way of saying 'I know, but was that the point?' but I have failed I am afraid. 5 different starts, 5 different paragraphs, and it is impossible to do without sounding like a prick.

By which I mean, in attempt six, that those points had been conceded by everyone hadn't they? The only bit that is still being disagreed over is the existence of the 82nd at that time.
