I guys and Gals, as its not that far off, I was wondering whether we should get some sort of uniformaty going at the December game. I noticed that in all photos of us Yanks, we always seem to be in different units, ones which you wouldnt really find fighting alongside eachother too.
I was thinking along the lines of all being the same unit, I'm thinking 101st Airborne for the event ala Band of Brothers in Bastonge (since its an aniversary of Battle of the Bulge from 2 years ago)
Obviously not every1 will have the winter paratrooper gear, however if we could get some sort of uniform continuity (like M42 jump suits and M43 jump suits patched as 101st) I think it will look great!
I'll be wearing my M43 jumpsuit, prolly with a great coat over the top if its cold, no helmet net on the helmet, might even stretch to a set of spades on the side.
are m43 jackets with m42 trousers ok? i have seen a few picks of this combo so it was done, just not sure about in the snow in december.
Just be aware......this might not be a Battle of the Bulge event......definitely a winter 1944/45 campaign, but not necessarily Battle of the Bulge.
That's fine Scaley, but M42s in Winter could be a tad chilly! Wear your longjohns!
noted steve, but i do tend to run away a lot so i might get warmed up
......this might not be a Battle of the Bulge event......
I meant more from that era, but yeah I know what you mean
OK folks. Chommers has posted his back story for the game.
For this one it's 82nd ABN. Get your All American badges out. Let's try to get as many as possible.
M43s are preferable, M42s are fine but will be chilly.
Of course, Screaming Eagles will be welcome, but we'll have to keep an eye on our wallets. (Name the quote - reversed!)
Of course, anyone without full kit will be also more than welcome. See our very relaxed kit rules on the booking thread.
It's what the 101st Airborne Commander says to Michael Caine when he 'passes' XXX corps over to the 82nd at Nijmegan in the film a bridge too far something like "the 82nd are good guys, just make sure to keep your hand on your wallet at all times"
And good -oh, dont have to get a 101st patch!
i have to get a 82nd patch now, as well as an m43 jacket .( goes to hunt for the SOF catalogue)
It's all about the All Americas
For this game I'm going to be running my .30cal, I was wondering whether there is anybody who would like to be my number 2 gunner? Just involves sticking close and making sure we dont get flanked, and possibly wearing a few hundred .30cal rounds in link around your neck?
Preferably some1 who's going to be in M43s patched up as 82nd.
Yes please!!!!!
will be wearing greatcoat bagded up as 82nd
Dont put the badge on your greatcoat
Booo, I'll run as a back up Webby and I've got a Greatcoat to hide my shame (101st patch) Don't mind doing it if and when needed.

Come on guys book in anyone who hasn't, we've nearly got a full stick.
It would be great if we could work out what weapons everyone is using as well...
I know we've got one MG coming, hopefully one other fingers crossed...
Come on, we got any rifles?
I'll be bringing my Springfield...
We need M1's, we always get bummed on engagement range.
