I was thinking of all the nutteres with Molle/lazer sight/ box mag/ tac-light/ armalite/ g36 fever that will be taking part in this 8 man tournament, and then I thought, wouldnt it be great if we could put in 3 period Teams, US/UK/German, and take on these delta force wannabe's with all the nice kit that is out for ww2 at the moment, eaven down to the germans having real stick grenades.

Better still, think of the indignation if we came 1st, 2nd, and third, and not a lazer sight in view.

Or am I just a crazy person talking gibberish, after all, the more lights you have on a 20" aeg, the better player you are.

What do you think?

although it would be good to win, i probably couldnt stand the full event, these events draw the, i spend 10 grand a year on airsoft crowd, so i must be the best.

also these type of people , ive got a minimi, with m4 ris as backup and a full molle loadout, with 16 hi caps, im not taking a hit of that guy with a rental beta spetz, who just shot me from behind  , ill just bladder him with my hot gun, cos im LEET!!!!!!!

so no , i think the great group of ww2 players should stear clear of this shite,

8 man teams , axis , us , brit , resistance would be cool though

Thats kind of my thought, I would hate to go to an open day against that "Sort" but I would have thought that the games will be properly marshalled against none hit taking.

It would be cool to win wouldnt it? Show all those "DELTA LEET" types its not what you have but what you know.

I'm totally off modern stuff.

I feel a bit silly these days in modern kit whereas the WWII stuff feels more like a proper hobby as its educational as well.

PLUS, therre is no escalation. if you do a modern laodout when the MOD change its kit there is pressure to have to get new stuff to look 'right', WWII stuf iis obviously fixed in time, noones going to invent a new type of body armour for waffen ss :)

With regard tot he tourny

I thik if 8 guys went and looked shit hot, even beetter 16, 8 axis, 8 allied.

In *matching kit* (not looking liek a rabble) it would have a massive PR boost for us.

However you'd have to find 8/16 guys and gals prpeared to put up with the day and still do their best ....

Think its worth an Idea, all matching kit would be cool, 8 thompsons on a team, you cant go wrong really :)

Plus WW2 gear tends to have a slightly thinner profile that modern gear, I find playing in modern gear gets me hit more, because of more pouches etc.

Well you can only hint, you know....

Much as i hate to say i i think *looking* shit hot is as important as playing well at this one, remember you're trying to show th image obsessed geardo crowd that you can look the mutts nutts without all the hi-tech stuff *and* still play.

There probably not even going to watch you play if a load of us turned up as 'axis uniforms of 1939 - 1945' :)

sad but true

I put "no" because I think it would take far too much effort to do - uniform standards would have to be very high and matched, and we're scattered all across the country, so practising would be a nightmare. However, don't let me put you off if you're really up for it.

I dont like modern stuff either the 2 games i have been to were at Pheonix woodland and i got a short barrel G3 it was ok till i got shot in the arse by my own bloke with a minimi! Also i get called a walt by my family if i do modern.

If its passed 9 there is a 95% chance im pissed.

Hmmm, I just don't like the idea of tournaments full stop! I don't feel the need to prove how good (bad) I am :rasp:

CW, I for one wouldnt be in it for the simple factor of winning and getting a prize per say but effectivly saying to these guys that (No Offence webby) you dont have to get every new gun and gizmo and camo piece to be worth a mention, as for uniform, that is simple, We allready have loads of peeps with brit airborne and 12th ss kit from the arnhem game, as well as US Infantry from the first do and the guys who will be doing commando for wotan, as well as 27th Panzers, 2nd Falshy and the Gross Duetchland, most of the guys from that lot will be able to get near spot on kit that matches each other.

Webby, I think a bit of variation in weapons would be better than 8 thompsons but whatever floats your boat.

Old'un, I agree, infact isnt it time you changed your name to shultze. Horay the SS assault battalion wotan

IMO tournaments and competative team stuff encourage just one thing...

CHEATING!

You are giving people a strong incentive to cheat and not take their hits so they can win the prize or title.

When I play, I dont give a monkeys which team won at the end of the game. I'm there to do my best, play fair and most importantly have fun!

Airsoft is my hobby, I aint got nothing to prove!

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

I agree with you syd, the Germans are looking very uniform these days , and stuff like Chris's training days are helping lots in explaining how to wear the kit correctly .

But no , supporting Sven is as far as we are going , any mention of Leo feckin Kessler is banned by order of the Raspberry .
