If the site rules stipulate full face protection is recommended and he chose to wear glasses, PLUS signed a liability waiver form, it's his own stupid fault, especially if he was breaking the rules at the time by blind firing. Tell him to f**k off.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
i am afraid i agree with pete, we are all big boys and girls, we know the risks, accidental close range shots can and do happen.not your fault, dont worry about it.he had done it to you, what do you think he would do?
Airsoft only works when players accept the risks of a physical activity, small though they are.
As you say, players are made aware of the recommended face protection and that there are risks to not wearing it. Teeth can be broken at almost any range so being close is a little bit of a red herring.
Frankly its up to the injured party's insurers to handle any claim and my guess would be to make a claim against the organiser, not a player (since the site will be insured & so an easier target to claim against). I've not heard of a case going to court so I wouldn't be worried about an assault case. Its not up to you to settle the chap's dental bill (unless you want to!). Liability waiver forms don't have a great deal of legal standing but they and verbal safety briefs do prove you were made aware of the risks you were taking by playing and of the safety measures to mitigate risks.
i am afraid i agree with pete,
What's that supposed to mean?
I ran a couple of sites for almost 4 years and never saw, nor heard of anything like this (I had a player set on fire by a pyro once as well!). The guy sounds like a bit of a knobber to me, going by your other comments on his conduct. Seems like he took the hit and said to you he was ok with it but then, in the cold light of day, found out that he can't afford the dental bill and is trying to scare you into paying it for him.

Was it recommended that he wear full face protection? Yes. He decided to take the risk of not wearing it. Ergo, tough shit on his part.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
LOL, he hasn't much of a leg to stand on then!
You aimed, and fired, at his back. He turned into the shot.
He was firing indiscriminately. You were lucky he didn't do it to you.
I have seen teeth broken at over 10 metres away it happens not your problem.
Free speech is expensive these days!
I think most of us like not to wear a full face it's the re-enactor part of all of us especially in ww2 airsoft. A gum shield is a good compromise though.

because i like to be diplomatic pete, but in this case i agree with your tell him to bollox train of thought
The guy is obviously a cock (does he drive an Audi ) and doesn't have a leg to stand on. If a bill turns up, bin it, if he approaches you in person politely tell him to feck off and get a life.
Glasses and full face masks are a personal choice, if you only wear glasses (and I do) you accept the risks and if the worse happens you just take it on the chin (or tooth )! I find masks ghey, and ruin what I started airsoft for - the realism, but I can accept if people don't want to take the risk of teeth hits. In all they years I've been playing I've only ever seen a broken tooth once - nothing to get worked up about!

A marshal should know better than that, otherwise they shouldnt be marshalling! Although sometimes you get them abusing their position and working things to their own ends.
Dont worry about it, if he threatens to write to a small claims court take him up on the offer, he'll end up a lot more out of pocket and you wont have to worry about anything. Like everybody said, you sign an insurance waiver at the start of every game, and every site I have been to, the marshalls safety brief says "*SITE* recommends the use of a full face mask, those who choose to wear goggles or safety glasses do so at their own risk, *SITE* can not be held responsible to injuries sustained to the face where full face protection has not been worn
I've said that enough times to remember it well!
I have seen 4 teeth knocked out in seperate incidents and the guys had to foot the bill themselves, no way can he say you are liable.....tell him to find the BB as evidence fekin people make the mistake of trying it on all the time.
I honestly hate full face and wear goggles only and I am really pretty so my looks are very important to me
Another question is how good were his teeth before it was broken ?
Tell him you are going to take him to court for the stress he has caused you
Is it coz I is Welsh
Welsh and proud
Your all fekin bonkers
..... and I am really pretty so my looks are very important to me

remember John using water to see your reflection often distorts the truth
....the ball is firmly in his court.
Or indeed, in his mouth.
At worst, the site will foot the bill through its insurance
The site won't have any responsibility in the matter, if theyve suggested they use full face and he wears glasses they are removed from responsibility in effect.
It is the site's responsibility to chrono all guns before the game's play, even regular players, you never know whether anybody who goes regularly might try and get away with throwing in a bigger spring etc.
