Trudging around Google, I stumbled upon this picture of FJ winter gear. Does anyone happen to know the book this was taken from? Looks like a pretty decent reference book.

I've got that one, it is one of the Histoire & Collections books, 'German Soldiers of WW2'.

A slightly eccentric collection of gear including some of the shortest shorts you've ever seen, a U-Boat crewman who looks like Chris O'Dowd and very, very camp looking Herman Goering grenadier.

I could have done with more photographs of normal army uniforms and equipment at various stages and campaigns through the war and less of the wierd and wonderful stuff but it isn't a bad book.

Cheers
Martin

Agree with Martin, its a useful reference book for the collection but by no means infallable. PLus some of the translations (orginally published in French I believe) are rather odd! Worth having on the shelf though.

Yes, if you can find one cheap it is worth having, but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Cheers
