It is a very cheap loadout. The only problem from a gaming point of view is that there are not that many games that allow for the civilian option.

Not officially attached but, they did assist directly in a number of operations, like Market Garden, Overlord and Jedburgh.

One option would be for a game organising group to come up with a game plan that has an entire side in civilian clothing - without bodging or crowbarring or stretching a point or afterthought or forcing 'inclusiveness' and trying to get the numbers but instead sticking to historical accuracy and believable/unbelievable fact. If only that were possible. Oh, wait....

maybe a future Polish game, cant remember the name of the city but I'm sure an expert could fill in the blank, where the polish rose up against the Germans while the Russians were a stones throw away and chose to take a break rather than help.would be the only all civilian side game i can think of unless it was the liberation of Paris.

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

that would be Warsaw - but operation Tempest was supposed to be nationwide.

However I have found no urban site.

edit: the side were in heavily defaced German kit, and mixed Polish/British equipment too.

thank you Warsaw just disappeared from my memory ,would need n urban site to do it any justice and i think there is a Que for those to do Stalingrad(if anybody can).

'tis the lack of site. We wouldn't waste it on some inferior location.

We will keep our ears to the ground, and if something comes up we will be on it like something that gets on things really quick! :D

Basically a resistance fighter, so boots, trousers, shirt, braces, flat cap and any old 'looted/stolen' smg/boltie you can get your hands on. Insignia would be the cross with the 2x horizontal lines.

Cheap as chips to buy as most clothing will be in charity shops and you are not limited to the weapons you can use.

There isn't really any limit on weapons now, most organisers just say 'any WW2 weapon'. If you are going to by all that lot, frankly you may was well buy a repro jacket, a hat, some looks-like brown/green trousers and a gas mask bag for your bits and just do a WW2 impression.

The kit guides have good ideas for basic impressions. You don't need full marching order, parade dress and every piece of webbing issued.

Cheers

Where abouts are you looking? I think the best urban site I've played was Copehill Down, played a couple weekenders there, I'm guessing it would be a pretty expensive venue though. Would need a decent amount of people, but hell would it look amazing

nah, I the MoD sites don't excite me enough to get past their downsides - cost, look and reliability.

Maybe I have low standards 8)
Not yet been spoiled by much better sites,
I did walk past a nice pin stripe suit in Tesco today, £40, I was tempted, well I hope a venue is found soon!

There is allready a stalingrad game planned isnt there?
And is this too modern for Warsaw? http://www.firstandonlyevents.co.uk/venues/anzio-camp/ or is it a case of looking for a site with tallish buildings giving the impression of being a city ghetto area?

Yes, Anzio is 80s red brick. MIght do for the outskirts of Arnhem/Oosterbeek if you squint a lot.

There is allready a stalingrad game planned isnt there?

The Pavlovs House game is all indoors.

There have been other outdoor Stalingrad games planned but they always seem to fall foul of the curse of urban sites that they vanish into the claws of a developer before they get played.

I did play Joshs 'relief of Stalingrad' game at Piddington (?) though. That was good fun, freezing cold with a coating of frost over the fields.

yup, and 'Warsaw' isn't room clearing, it's street fighting - Making finding a site doubly hard - and most of it is no fighting at all.
