Seems like you're a bit confused. Allow me to clarify that nothing is "CiA only", not even a CiA event! There are many organisers of WW2 games and all of them use whatever site fits their game and all have their own style. CiA came up with kit and weapon guidelines to assist others, not to lay down imaginary laws. We have NEVER turned anyone away because their kit was not good enough. In spite of what some may tell you, we are friendly and inclusive.

There's nothing to stop you putting on your own game, in fact, Old 'Un put up a guide to help people to do just this viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7349, which is most definitely recommended reading for you. Close Action is a good site and, CiA were going to do the "Devil's Hill" game there but, we ran into obstacles with overnight camping.

Unfortunately, given the specialist appeal of WW2 games, the community is very spread out and there will always be travelling involved to get to any game (just ask Steiner!) and to make things happen and, indeed, to keep the WW2 scene going. I think that's what makes this community so great though. We all go to huge lengths to get to games and the people that you play alongside of will become your friends as well (well, most of them!). Make the effort to get to a proper, organised WW2 event and you won't look back.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

If you are wanting a game nearby 'The Mace' is at Tuddenham, which is just down the road from Peterborough?

I have spoken to John from Firesupport/FFZ in the past about running a WWII game at his Bulby site since it is just down the road from me. He stated he is not keen on a 3rd party running games there as he intends to run his own and thinks it would be counter productive. This is despite the fact that I was thinking of an Eastern front scenario and he only intends to do Western front AFAIK. I imagine it would be a similar situation for Urban Assault, if they can even run a WWII game there themselves without upsetting the locals.
He ran one last year at FFZ which was moderatly successful despite poor advertising and I believe intends to do another sometime this year. I heard rumours of April/May time but there is nothing concrete yet. Not that it suprises me, they tend not to be very good at getting info out early.

As for Close action, they may be more receptive as CiAs previous plans demonstrate so they're probably your best bet if you're planning to run one. Just be aware the calendar is already rather full and the number of players limited.

If you're wanting to get the most out of WWIi airsoft however I fulling recommend making the effort to travel to events. The chance to join in some fantastic events at new and interesting sites alongside a great bunch of people is not to be missed.

Aye, Tuddenham is only about an hour from Peterborough.

Well, I may even throw in a cake ;). Though he is probably German, so I'll let the German commander throw in a cake. :giggle:

edit: Or it could equally mean that you need an excuse to get away (see I never consider it, it could very well be on my Mothers birthday, I never checked  ) which would be equally valid. But cake-less, I have to be strict on that or everyone would start wanting cakes.
