Hey guys, Can you tell me what helmet liner this is? It looks German to me but its an M1 helmet. Were any given to Germany as surplus after the war at all?

Are you sure it's not actually a post-war Dutch helmet? they were pretty much a clone of the US M1?
I've not seen inside one though, so couldn't tell you what the liner should look like!
I think the Danish had M1 pots as well... Mine is a Danish one I think
German or Austrian i think.
Most Nato countries post war adopted the M1 style helmet with slightly different types of US style liners but for some reason the Germans and Austrians i think experimented with that type of liner.
Any markings/stamps in it at all?
50s Belgian fibre liners are very very nice-identical to WW2 US ones.
I have had some Danish fibre ones as well which arent bad but vary sometimes-some have greyish webbing and some have the webbing A washers held in place by small brass nuts and bolts.
Dutch liners usualy have a sticker impregnated into the fibre(impossible to remove)marked with either ABL and something like COGEGBI or both.
Danish liners usualy have a white inlstamped Crown with CL under it and the fibre is also sometimes a bit redder in colour.
Austrian ones are stamped US with a date which can be confusing as people swear blindly they are American.
US is the maker ULBREICHT something or other in sure.
Dutch ones are also stamped but cannot remember offhand with what.
Probably either "NL" or "KL" ![]()
I can truly say I've never seen a liner like this before.
