I hope to organise games in the future once I've got some more games under my belt and I'm in a comfortable financial position and I'm happy to help with brainstorming, on the day logistics and things like that, but not having much money holds me back from getting as involved in the hobby as much as I'd like to be. I've been full time at college the last few years and health problems have made doing much else difficult.

I'm gonna be coming to games a lot more next year if all goes to plan so in a couple years time I'll be happy to start organising/helping out with organisation.

Echoing Chris, if people want to think about these games then coming together to form a new organising group would be well worth doing.

SAD (Inglorious Basterds & Army Group South) are looking at running two for next year and neither is likely to be an overnight/24hr game at this stage.

If Gunman takes a break from the scene as he has indicated that he might, then at the moment there are only likely to be 5/6 events next year - very different from the 1 per month frequency that we have got used to!

Maybe the market has become over-saturated, and maybe fewer games wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing in terms of keeping numbers up - but its up to people as to how many events they want to play in, and if they want more, then think about organising something yourselves.

The established organisers are all very happy to offer help/tips/props etc

It could open up the possibility of new/fresh organisers getting in the mix.

Well personally I've been thinking about running early war scenarios in the future if that's something that appeals?

Thats all the excuse I'd need to get a French uniform.

The Battle of Narvik could include British infantry, French infantry (rather Polish in French uniform), French Chassuers, Gerbigsjager, Kriegsmarine sailors and Fallschirmjager. It is admittedly the scenario I'd like to start with, but not likely to be a 36/48hr do, as it'd be my first time running an event.

Operation Jedburgh, best event ever!
Been to many events, organised a few games myself but have never come as close to a true suspension of belief as that event gave me. Held in the summer so actual night time is very short, there was a mutual ceasefire from midnight to six am but for all the rest of the game there was the danger of attack from an enemy that you never knew where they were (I was axis) I fired a total of ten shots over the entire event and had the best ww2 game of my life.
That is missing from the current scene.

For a lot of us, it's the history of WW2 that interests us the most; actual Airsoft is in some respects a secondary consideration, it's just the tool that's used in the field to enable us to shoot at each other. Embrace that love of the history in the scenario, the props, the feel of it all and you're more often than not onto a winner.

Sounds like a great game!

Well, if we're needing more organisers, is there anyone in the S. Wales area/nearby who fancies getting together to plan something?

I have a few themed games planned out, one of which is Op. Werwolf, the Nazi plan to continue an underground guerrilla war of reprisal against the allies after the collapse of the state. It has lots of scope to be inclusive and can last as long or short as people like.

Most of the work is done, I just need a site and some people to help make it happen!

On another note, would anyone be interested in a WWII CQB/Social day? I've moved my workshop to the Dojo in Cardiff recently and it's a great little site which will be expanding in the new year.

Martin,
didn't you want to do a training day. Maybe this could be combined with a social.

Alte Hasen training day! Let's go!

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Well I'm sure I can swing use of the Dojo if anyone wants to use it. I'd like to see people using WW2 gear in there, especially some bolt-action rifles. There's also a nice woodland site half an hour away so I'm sure between the two sites we could make a day/weekend of it.

Sounds like a good idea. Haven't done any training since my army cadet days
