Not the sort of thing I use, but have noticed a fair few of the guys carry/ use these weapons, and all made of rubber, foam and the like of non- lethal material.
My enquiry is. Is there any objections to larp weapons/blades being made from wood? Not sharpened spikes and the like, but blunt flat bladed items I mean. As these might be a bit more stable for use.
I will be making some short knife examples and would like some feedback in pro's and con's please.
Andy.

I think your biggest safety concern with wood = what happens if there is an accident, and the blade snaps, and someone gets a faceful of wooden splinters? Worst-case scenario, yes, but that's what we unfortunately have to cater for.

I think your test knife design would be a good idea regardless. Maybe something to discuss and get consensus from the organisers and players.
