A great man and hero is going to meet his old friends.
Please sign this petition to nominate Major Richard Winters for a Medal of Honor: http://www.petitiononline.com/winters/petition.html
Major Richard Winters was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (the U.S. Army's second highest award for combat) because the quota system limited the distribution of the award to only one per division, and since one Medal of Honor had already been awarded (to Lieutenant Colonel Robert G. Cole), Richard Winters was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
Hopefully he will get all the honors he deserves.
Always a sad day when we here of the loss of yet another WW2 veteran.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
RIP indeed, petition signed.
Very sad indeed, signed the petition but it is sad that he never got the MOH in person.
I guess a postumous one will at least ensure his memory as a great hero in the history books.
An amazing guy.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
R.I.P.
Absolutely. A hero and true leader of men. May he rest in Peace.
Show me a man who will jump out of an airplane, and I'll show you a man who will fight!
