Okay someone else (me) is having a go at making a MG34.(if time is my friend)
Couple of questions and some idea of what im doing so i can take advantage of others knowledge.
Overview:
using a thompson unit and grip with a lonex 650mm tightbore barrel, box unit in pressed steel and aluminim, with a handcrafted woodstock.
so far so good, I have all the lenght specs and box unit drawings.
question - does anyone know the diameter of the outer (holed) barrel, I cant seem to identify the diameter for love nor money and i want to try and be as accurate as possible (looking at what some people have done the benchmark is high).
Any info or advise welcome - oops before i forget, is there any reason the stock has to be in wood effect, in other words can it be done in black?
cheers

The barrel is 1.5" diameter with a 1.75" section near the feeder chamber, check out Tony's post http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13705
Good luck fella
I believe the stocks were either wood or bakelite (very dark brown)
cheers, missed that post. thanks for the details.
