So me and my buddies have all got US airborne kit and are looking for some games, we are based up around Leeds.

It looks like we have missed out on Vierville, but are there any WW2 themed games, or milsim events coming up closer than January?

Are there any 24-48-36 hour events at CHD, Stanta, or other FIBUA sites?

Cheers

Will

Welcome to the forum!

I think the remainder of games this year are South of the Watford Gap, generally people find that very few games are on their doorstep so a bit of traveling is a necessary evil of the WW2 airsoft scene :x

There doesn't tend to be any 24 games, any weekenders usually call it a day at about 18:00, followed by a social and a few beers before restarting hostilities in the morning.

There may be an event or two at a MOD site in the next year, its something that is being looked at although nothing definitive yet.

Thanks chaps.

Yeah no problem in travelling, but always worth a shout to see if there are any local events! Is anyone off up to Pickering?

We have had some great experiences at some of the Fibua sites, and the gameplay tends to be much more fluid if people know it is going on for 36 hours!

Is this the definitive place for WW2 airsoft events?

Yes this tends to be the main place for WW2 airsoft, there's some stuff on FB, and some people attend open days at their local sites in WW2 loadouts, especially in Scotland I think because games up there are few and far between. Not going to Pickering but I usually attend the Yorkshire Wartime Experience in Hunsworth, and the 1940's weekends in Haworth but not usually in my gear as Germans don't go down too well  .

There used to be a few games up here, but it's been a while since there's been one, the most northerly are usually the 34th Infantry games north of Birmingham. So attending the best games usually means travelling

German

Russian

British

Japanese

WW2 airsoft is maybe a bit different to what you may be expecting, its more squad and objective based, slower paced at times(because most of us are knocking on a bit).
36/48 hours games would affect the social(drinking) side of the games as well,Buffalo Grass Vodka anybody?

That is exactly the reason that we moved away from skirmishing.

From my experience, Milsim is primarily about squad focus. As a unit you get an objective, and you might be sat on your arse for 2 hours watching or defending a position with no action. We regularly use more ammo on a Sunday skirmish, than a 36 hour milsim :D .

By the sounds of it, WW2 airsoft sounds brilliant, you bring the Zubrowka, and I'll bring the Raspberry Soplica!

I have now been doing WW2 Airsoft for 7 years and the most northern game that went ahead was 'Devils Hill' in the Bradford area. I was living in Catterick, then Northumberland and now back in Catterick and apart from the game mentioned most games I have attended were anywhere from 3 to 6 hrs away. I travel to most games now with a mate from North Shields so it helps on the travel costs but dont expect any north of the Midlands as southerners dont like to travel too far as they are a bunch of wingeing shandy drinking poofters :giggle: and their ears and noses start to bleed from the pressure of having to travel to far to games
