after a very pleasant bank holiday monday at the sheffield fair with a mate and his dad( who did the last 2 years of ww2 in ETO with a RA anti aircraft battery) the subject of the re-enactors lack of blancoed equipment came up.acording to norman some regiments wanted blancoed webbing, others required it scrubbing off. he spent a large amount of time putting it on, only to be sent to another division to be told to scrub it off. same for different barracks in the uk. dont know where this leaves it. once again ,,,,,, CAN OPEN WORMS EVRYWHERE !!!!!

Not really. It isnt that unusual to hear of depot troops having scrubbed and bulled webbing. Not impossible to think of rear area troops getting bulled kit with instruction from a RSM of some intent.
That same RSM might have a differing view when the depot is exchanged for the field. Personal camo was held in high regard, there was a leaflet and a manual that covered the topic. Dark webbing and dulled brasses are high on the list.
