Shame if any of you missed that, it was quite frankly awesome.

Top notch re-enactment and some good CGI mixed in with archive footage seamlessly.

The assault on Merville has totally fired me up to do a game on that at some point.

if i remember correctly, the merville assualt went in through a minefield. the wounded had to stay where they were for a crazy amount of time till RE sappers could be brought up to safely get them out. something like 5 hours,,,,,

From what I caught at the end it looked good, makes me want to do a line infantry impression for a battle for Caen PBI weekender game that would be awesome that and an Oosterbeek weekender sometime ;D

What was it called? If it's UK History they'll repeat it to death.

gadge, game idea you mentioned, a bit of research tells me that after the paras had finished, they moved off to re- group then onto their next objective, the germans re-occupied the battery and started repairs, the commandoes had to go back in and sort them out, with heavy losses apparently. sounds like a game to me.

Definitely

Caen game sounds doable

Oosterbeek is currently on the drawing board, we have a site, we have a date, just want to iron out some details...
