FYI - we're adopting the CiA looky-likely rules so MP5=MP40 etc. Also, as the game involves Resistance and Milice, people not in WW2 gear will be in civvies.

Basically, read the info properly... A site goes to the trouble of arranging a WW2 day and people get all sniffy - you can't expect 100% of the site regulars to splash out on a new load out for one game...

The Worthing game may still go ahead in February but will be only a small event. At Elite Action Games we do want to hold a big weekend with a WW2 theme, but we want to do it right. We feel it's better to put off a game untill it can be run properly rather than have it ripped apart on the forums. You guys have to admit it can be very daunting to try and host a game, correctly all in form and everything and then announce it on here especially when so many of you guys know so much more about the subject matter than us!
The poll results show very clearly that a 24 - 36 hour game is out of the question for many different reasons, I think if we do run a game later on in the year we'll just get a hog roast for the evening and maybe a couple of fraulines with beer steins, makes for a lot easier game plan ;)

Your comments were a good kick up the backside for me and so I've pulled my finger out and have sorted out the game for February at Worthing: Oporation Jubilee

http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/i ... try1963216

Is the link to Arnies page about it.
As I stated there I'm on thin ice historically, but I feel we will have the capability to host a good game, and although it's a woodland site not a port, I think it could be a good game. Please feel free to give any constructive advice, it's you guys and your forum, and the guys I met, that started all this, so I'd appreciate any advice you can give. :good:

You have to be logged on to Arnie's for the link to work.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Location: Elite Action Games Worthing

Date: February 21st & 22nd 2009

Name: Oporation Jubilee

Background details taken from Wikipedia

The Dieppe Raid, also known as The Battle of Dieppe or Operation Jubilee, during the Second World War, was an Allied attack on the German-occupied port of Dieppe, Seine-Inférieure on the Northern coast of France on 19 August 1942. Over 6,000 infantrymen, predominantly Canadian, were supported by large British naval and Allied air force contingents. The objective was to seize and hold a major port for a short period, both to prove it was possible and to gather intelligence from prisoners and captured materials while assessing the German responses.

As this is our first attempt at running a WW2 themed game we are sticking as close as possible to the Comrades in Arms rules for look alike kit and weapons. These guys have been running WW2 games for some time and their rules work. There will be severe ammo limits, 300 rounds per life so no hi caps please.

Price for the weekend will be £25, with a ten pound non refundable deposit to book a place. Another hint from the CiA guys is to limit and set the places, so to start with the game is limited to 20 players, 10 Allied and 10 Axis, please make it clear when booking which side you want to play on. When the initial places are taken we will open more places but ensure an even split

i thank you (steiner) and i thank you zero bravo, due to my apparent marriage to work i wont be able to make it to that one, but sounds like it should be a good one, and if nothing else introduce modern style players to the possibility of ww2 airsofting. once again, hope it goes well for you!

Quick question on the worthing game. How are the sides looking? I've booked for Axis so far. But not realy commited to which kit to get in the long run. As for stag pa! not anymore, not at this age. :(

For booking best to contact Zero Bravo on this site or try the Arnies Airsoft site.

Please accept my humble apologies for not being up to speed with this thread, I had a close bereavment at beginning of December then xmas was tits up. 2008 for me was not a good year but I'm back on board and going to make an effort in 2009.
Angel we have a few guys from your area that are regs on the site, so it's not too far away. I'm sorry it clashes with another event, but it's our first attempt at WW2 games and we had to go for it at some time. I'm also hoping to be a bit of an ambassador for sites in the south who dont seem to run enough WW2 games. I honestly believe the thought of a long drive puts a lot of people off going to games for purely logistic reasons, and I think if more southern sites ran WW2 games then it would be so much better.
Please feel free to pm me any questions.
Happy new year people, lets hope 2009 is a goodun :good:
